This review is for the casino portion of Grand Portage Lodge & Casino, as I only visited the casino and did not stay in the hotel. I arrived here on a Saturday night to find the parking lot almost completely full, mostly with Ontario plates. To be honest, I don't understand why people from Thunder Bay flock to this place....

The Jacuzzi room was beautiful and updated. Beautiful lakeside room on the 3rd floor was nice and quiet. The downfall to this beautiful upgraded motel casino is allowing the indoor smoking. When you walk into the front door which is next to the casino, it's like a cloud of smoke. I am a smoker and I had to leave the...

Just returned from Grand Portage Lodge and Casino after a snowmobile trip with friends. We stayed in a room at the lodge and were unsure what to expect as the price of the room was $70 per night. After our arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel and have recently undergone a renovation/remodel. All was great and...

All though there was renovation going on, the room was nice and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Price was good. Personnel were vet courteous. The elevator was not in operation so we were placed on the first floor.

The lodge was undergoing renovation while we were there. The rooms were nice but the hallways were partly closed off and re-routed. We stayed there two times, four days apart, and the route to the dining room was completely different each time. The location is good, near Grand Portage National Monument and the boat that takes passengers out to Isle...

Rooms very clean and quiet. Food at restaurant very good and quite reasonable even with the US high exchange rate, Under construction not pleasant but will come to an end. Gas station close by and a discount for cash payments. Charge cards accepted are Visa,MC, Diners club and perhaps another.

Drove into Grand Portage from Duluth thinking there would be plenty of lodging available. HA! This hotel IS the town basically. It's under construction and looks a little shady. 😳 I was kind of concerned as I drove up to the roped off lobby area and walked through to the narrow temporary front desk. 😬 I was greeted by a...

Stopped there late this summer and it was under construction. Looked at website today and its still under construction. Website doesn't tell how extensive the construction still is. Hotel and casino were ok but the area wasn't very attractive. If aesthetics are important I would call and check on how far advanced they are in remodeling the Hotel and surrounding...

We stayed here because it is 5 min. from where you get on the boat to go to Isle Royale. At the end of July when we stayed, parts of the hotel were still under construction. The rooms were finished and were very nice and very clean. We had a King room on the 1st floor. The bed/pillows were comfy....
