Marie and Gary have done a marvelous job of creating one of the most peaceful and professional lodging facilities in the north. First of all, their attention to detail in the cabins, suites and on the grounds are unparalleled. The suite in which we stayed was immaculate, well-appointed and well-stocked (I owned a B and B for many years and...

My husband and I have been regulars at this amazing gem since 2008. Not only do we enjoy our summer visits, but we also love winter at Northern Lights Lodge as well. The cabins are immaculate and the resort grounds are very tidy. You will find so many options to keep you busy and enjoying the outdoors. The owners welcome...

My wife and I were looking for a winter getaway after 9 years of staying in very rustic accommodations. I did my research and chose Northern Lights. What a great place! The suite was just as advertised, and fully stocked. Very clean, well kept, and very comfortable. The grounds are also kept up, and everything plowed and shoveled. The sauna...

My wife and I recently took a long weekend to have a 'winter vacation' at Northern Lights Lodge, near Ely, MN. We have vacationed there for many winter weekends, and have thoroughly enjoyed our summer family week vacations there for many years. The new snow was clean and white, and the driveway, parking areas, stairs and walkways were cleaned and...

We have stayed in cabin #1, #3, #6 and one year we brought the grandparents along and stayed in cabin #12. All of the cabins are nice and always clean. Every stay has been wonderful. The kids...

I gave this an excellent rating because it is a very nicely maintained property on a beautiful lake. The cabins are very clean and well maintained. Most have wonderful lake views. They are not luxury by any means but are very comfortable. We have been coming to this resort for many years as a family and it has truly found...

This is our first outing in USA as a family. I went with my wife and two kids (4 and 2 years old). We went in late September with no much crowd around. The trip is very memorable with all the fun we had. The place has lot of fun activities to keep the kids busy. My kids loved playing...

My family and I have been coming to this resort every summer since 1989. The Vogt family is absolutely amazing and will bend over backwards to ensure you enjoy your stay. There is always something fun to do outdoors to stay active, you can relax on a hammock, take the short trip into Ely for a unique small town shopping...

The Vogt family--Gary, Marie, and JR--owners/operators of Northern Lights for the past 15 years, have a passion for hospitality. You quickly sense that this is no ordinary resort by the friendliness of your hosts, the lavish amounts of TLC evident throughout the cabins, suites, and grounds, and especially in the numbers of repeat visitors. A place to relax and exercise...
