My Fiancé and I recently took a trip site seeing along the lower North Shore this past fall. A friend recommended Camp 61 and I was very delighted to find it is just what we were looking for. Not your average big chain hotel experience. Only a few rooms each with a unique cabin feel. The room was everything we...

I loved Camp 61! We had a two level room. Upstairs is 2 queen beds, a mid-size flat screen TV, a ceiling fan and a standing fan. Downstairs is a love seat, chair, flat screen TV, small fridge and microwave. The sink is separate from the toilet and shower. There are plenty of electrical outlets and hooks to hang things...

If you are looking for just a simple , comfortable room to sleep and have some down time as you explore the north shore , this is a good choice. The beds are very comfortable, and the shower pressure is great. The owners are very nice. Their dog make a great host as well :) The restaurant does not open...

A cozy place off of Hwy 61 is well worth the stop! If it hadn't been so warm on the North Shore when we were there, this would have been a wonderful destination.Beautiful bike trail, wonderful river and falls hiking, and a restaurant that has the best fresh herring I have ever tasted. It has everything that you need, except...

My husband and I stayed here recently in a teeny tiny room for $91 which was half below ground as the window sill was at ground level. There was no refrigerator, microwave or coffee pot. You could hardly turn around. However, the bed was comfortable, room clean and the shower was good. The wifi in the rooms was also strong....

Quaint little place along the shore with restaurant. had a 2 queen loft. Nice setup. Very friendly staff and just so you are aware there is no AC but is usually cooler by the lake. Fans in rooms. Good price for the room and the restaurant is attached.

There were 4 of us. We were greeted by an obviously overworked waitress from the adjoining restaurant for our check in. Not a warm welcome but not surly either. To sum up without being wordy these are our noted detractions....no Kleenex, no hair dryer, no little bottles of shampoo, no maid service during stay, no breakfast, no coffee maker in...

My friend and I stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night to hike a portion of the Superior Hiking Trail. It was very clean. Beds were very comfy, hot water for showers, microwave, frig. Bedroom with 2 comfy queen beds were up stairs. Downstairs sofa and chair were quite uncomfortable, but did not spend a lot of time in...

Stayed for a night on a drive around Lake Superior. Room was clean and no complains there. Ate in the restaurant for dinner which was nice. Would have eaten breakfast there but they were not open when I left in the morning (I think about 8am). Overall, good value though.

If you MUST have air conditioning and cable TV and room service? There are other options in the area. However, you will probably pay at least twice as much. Our room was clean, cozy, and had a nice bathroom. You really do not get a lot of extra "frills," but they do clean the room. Honestly, if you're coming to...
