We recently traveled Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and stayed in the Platte River Campground. This is a great park and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful at check in. When we reserved, we were unable to secure a reservation for an electric site. When we arrived, they had an electric site available that...

The campground itself is pretty nice. Private tent camping pads and not too far from fairly clean bathrooms. Bring a lot of bug repellant, they were terrible back in our wooded camp site! The fire pit has a grill top attached, that was a nice touch. I had read reviews that they charge for showers but they no longer do...

While we've been coming to this part of Michigan for the past 8 years, this year was our first time camping. We picked this one because of proximity to Lake Michigan and Traverse City. Very very glad we did. The campground is beautiful, campsites are spacious and nicely situated, bathrooms are spotless. Great sunsets at the lakeshore and magnificent views...

We recently purchased a travel tailer and decided to make the Platte River Campground in Sleep Bear National Lakeshore our destination. We were thrilled with the spacious and paved campsites. Our picnic table and fire ring were located up a little hill behind our camper. The entire campground was spotless. Restrooms were immaculate and conveniently located. Another thing that surprised...

We stayed here for a long Memorial Day weekend because of the location. It is near dunes, hiking, and kayaking. When we arrived, the office was already closed, so we just picked a spot and settled up in the morning. We intially unknowingly picked a spot right next to a trail and had to switch when people kept walking next...

We love this place!! Great spot for winter camping. Hot showers & electric, although not a lot of plowed sites in the winter! Very peaceful & quiet. Wonderful place to hike, snowshoe & just enjoy nature! Very close to Sleeping Bear Dunes and kayak down the river in the warmer months

My husband and I stayed a few nights in October. We loved our campsite #420 and we weren't too close to any of our neighbors. Each site had a tent pad and large picnic bench. We were close to the bathrooms which were kept clean and the shower room was just as nice. We took the path to Lake Michigan...

We loved this campground, nice paved spots that are secluded enough that you don't feel like your right on top of your neighbors. The park was incredibly clean as were the bath houses. The staff and volunteers are super nice and helpful. We asked for recommendations on things and they always had great suggestions. Will definitely go back!!!

Very popular, due to it’s location at the S. end of the sleeping bear Sand dunes, in Michigan. Private campgrounds are several miles S. Reserve early, there is no refunds. Loop 1 is open all year . RULE #1: ALL WHEELS of pulling vehicle and RV must be on the pavement. (With a little forethought they could have paved the...

We spent a week camping at site 421. It was pretty epic. .8 miles to a secluded beach on Lake Michigan. I'm a trail runner and had immediate access to miles and miles of soft surface trail. Recommend the Bass Lake loop. Bathrooms and showers were clean. Site was large. Neighbors were friendly. We spent a day on the beach...
