The staff at check in and out were friendly, giving ideas about the area since this was our first visit. Location on Traverse Bay was neat and beach frontage would be real asset if it wasn't late October! Stiff wind off the lake most of our week. Had one bedroom on second level, small deck overlooking beach. Reasonable furnishings, bed... More

I found an off season internet special on this beachfront studio at a price I could not refuse. The studio was about 4x the size for a motel room with full kitchen, 2 queen beds and a queen sofa sleeper. There was a huge flat screen tv between 2 sliders that lead out to your huge private balcony overlooking Grand... More

We have been coming here for 9 years. The people are so nice and especially Kim. She is very helpful. They are always doing things to improve the place too. I love to look out the window and look at the water. It is great for families. The water in the pool is warm too.

We have been coming to Traverse City for over 25 years now and have stayed at several different properties but for at least the last 15 years there has been nowhere else to stay but the Pinestead. Its location on the beach is great and because the property is spread out and set back from the beach it is less... More

Right on the beautiful beach, great view of the bay, nice sunsets. Rooms are large and roomy. Full size bedroom with 2 queens. Living room, dinette and 3/4 size kitchen with full size fridge and oven/stove which is nice when you just don't feel like going out. Pool is decent, although we spent all our time on the beach and... More

Been coming here since the 80s as a kid. Now I take my son here. Great beach, great pool. The game room is dated though, old games that kinda work. My door in unit 335 stuck badly too. Great place over all.

The best description of this hotel is "used and abused." Severely outdated and barely cleaned from previous visitors. Trash littered the patio and beach the entire stay and was never picked up. Odd smell in room that never went away and dishes that needed to be washed before use. Would never stay here again. Embarrassing to charge $390 a night... More

nice location, within walking distance to several restaurants, all rooms have balconies which over look the East Grand Bay. Gorgeous blue water. Tables on deck, with umbrellas, chairs. Also lounge chairs on grassy courtyard or in sand. Free for grabs. Everyone was very pleasant from staff to guests. Pictures do describe this resort to a T. Some rooms need a... More

We prefer to stay close to the downtown area but had a hard time finding something with a kitchen on the water. Rooms were a good size but bedroom furniture was dated. Each condo has a large outside deck overlooking Lake Michigan.

This was one of the best check-in experiences we've had during our travels. The terrific lady that greeted us on our Sunday arrival was very helpful with room selection, describing the property and suggesting local points of interest. We enjoyed being here in the preseason. The evenings were pleasant and quiet. This resort is right on the water so listening... More
