This campground is close to home and I go there 2 or three times a season. It is quiet and perfect for that get away. The Western Part of the PEI is the Island's best kept secret. If you are not "into" fast pace and just want to relax this is perfect. The beach is wonderful and full of treasures for those willing to walk.

Spent two nights here, one night in the tenting area, the second night at a 30 amp site. Fun to walk on the beach, boardwalk, lighthouse nearby. (Yes, poison ivy, but warnings well posted, not a problem if you stay on the walkway, trails). Mosquitoes, yes, but we encountered them all during our summer trip! Would return to this campsite. Staff very friendly.

We parked our motor home and walked 15 feet onto a beautiful beach. Yes, the campsites are close together and the poison ivy was intimidating on the trail, but the spectacle of the lighthouse and the beach were positive points we enjoyed.

-all trails and campsites were loaded with poison ivy.
-told us the beach was beautiful but it was scattered thoroughly with garbage, a rusty part of some ol' boat, and debris
-western area of the province not scenic.
-firewood-mainly kindling and not a mix
-mosquitos were insane there
-sites were too close together
-it was so quiet-all were in bed early and up early.
-go to the northern part of the province to cavendish area to the pei provincial park. it's beautiful , clean, and we stayed at the stanhope provincial park---oh the beaches were beautiful!

Such a beautiful campsite, tucked away on a remote corner of PEI. The pitches are very large, and the tent pitches in particular are very deep and very private, with lots of trees scattered throughout. Lots of activities and different games areas - volleyball net, slide, tetherball, etc.). Practically right on the the beach, with a lovely 5 minute walk to a gorgeous lighthouse.
Our only issue was the windiness. We had a pitch by the beach (#25) but ended up having to move because the wind gusts were actually blowing over our tent! Thankfully, the staff were very understanding and accommodating, and relocated us without any issue. Pitch #3 was perfect - and we even shared it with a bunny rabbit!
There is not much around in terms of shops or restaurants, but an easy 20-25 minute drive into O'Leary where we had a fabulous pizza at Vinny's (open till 10).
Back at the campsite, we laid on top of our picnic table and watched the Perseid meteor showers. There is zero light pollution here, so the stars rival any planetarium I have ever been in. And at least the wind kept away the mosquitos!

Tent camped for 2 nights to ride out a nor'easter. Had the place to myself! Staff are islanders first, and are just wonderful folks. They made sure I knew there was a shelter where I could work (had power) eat, and stay dry. A restaurant down the road served up a great haddock and chips (best chips I had on the island, including the chip shack in C'town). You could say I had an authentic island experience there - enduring weather, good conversation with locals, views of daily life in the fishery, beach combing, swatting the biting insects. If you want the island served up without the tourist glaze, you will find it here.
Like most of the provincial parks on the island, the infrastructure is worn, but clean and functional. The reliable hot shower was very welcome.

We didn't camp here, but spent several hours at the beach and sites around Cedar Dunes Prov Park while we toured the west coast of PEI.
The park seemed really nice, the beach was fabulous, and the West Point Lighthouse really cool to see and photograph.
Lots of neat stuff to find on the beach, including shells, smooth stones, sea glass, little crabs, etc. The kids had a blast!
Definitely worth a visit!

Great beach for kids that want to be in the water. We went at high tide and the water was just right for swimming, floating and goofing around.
Consistently the beach with the warmest posted water temperature.
As with all the PEI Provincial beaches that I have visited, there are lifeguards, clean changing areas and no entry fees.

Stayed here for our first 2 nights on PEI, huge site, just a short walk from the beach. Bathrooms are adequate and very clean. Watched a beautiful sunset from the benches by the lighthouse. You can walk a very long way along the shore, we watched seals playing just offshore.
The park is a little out of the way, but made a good base for doing the northern shore drive.

We only went for a short visit, the place is really pretty, but we were not welcome from the person at the desk of the Inn, she was rude and unpleasant. we only wanted to take a look at the place but couldn't even look inside.

Actually we didn't stay at any campgrounds. My husband and I "car camped". We slept in our Jeep Wrangler in parking lots. We just went to visit beaches and attractions during the day, but didn't use any campgrounds over night. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Although from trip advisor reviews I read the cedar dunes campground seems to be really nice. I know I loved their beach! Enjoy your trip!
