Fabulous peaceful place to stay. The host and hostess, Austen and Nikki are the loveliest and friendliest people you could wish to meet, as are their staff and of course Molly and Lily. Supper each evening was superb. I would love to come back and hope that I get the opportunity next year - love to you both xxxx mags

I have been intending to write this every since we stayed here in early August, but have just got home from travelling! We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and were made so welcome by Niki, she is just so easy to be around and to chat to and would do anything to make your stay lovely. The hotel... More

We stayed for one night whilst travelling, and what a great stay we had..Made to feel very welcome on arrival. We stayed in a upstairs family room which had lots of rustic charm and very spacious with large double bed and sofa, great spacious bathroom with lovely shower and kids loved their room. Very relaxed place and peaceful. Fantastic interior... More

Not the easiest place to find but the welcome was very warm. The room was on the small side but clean. The pool was nice with nice decking and plenty loungers. The meal was an interesting mix of French and English, we didn't expect a large side dish of roast potatos with our meal. The overall experience was good but... More

The owners Niki & Austin are the perfect hosts. They could not do enough for us. The food and service was simply the best, so much so that the experience has prompt me to do my first ever review! The rooms were very comfortable and Niki kindly showed us the variety of rooms on offer from a standard to a... More

If you ever travel through Charente or are thinking of a lovely idealic relaxing french holiday then without a doubt the Karina ,is a Hotel extraordinaire. From the minute you turn into the long drive, it is like being wrapped in a warm blanket. An old Cognac Distillary lovingly converted by Austin and Nikki Legon into a wonderful hotel built... More

This is our second time staying here and we enjoyed it even more than our first visit. It is a very relaxing , quiet place to stay but with easy access to Jarnac and Cognac. The rooms are large, clean and bright with good en-suites and comfortable beds. Whilst I will admit it is not 'boutique style' , what makes... More

Whilst the hosts are a charming couple it is very obvious that this attempt to create a Logis from an old Cognac distillery has been and still is a DIY project. I'm afraid a lot of the work is not to a very high standard, with very uneven floors and poor finishes. For the standard offered this Logis is over... More

Agree most of the comments below, both good and bad. This makes it difficult to reiew. The most disturbing thing was opening the back window of the room onto a road where a gang of road menders were laying maoins drainage. Perhaps these rooms should not be in use while the work is in progress The hotel is an old... More
