This is quite a special if rather unusual place - it is in part of what was a huge quasi-military academy in what was originally an abbey. Founded in the 18th century, it wasn't finally closed until 1991. The hotel occupies part of the original building, a museum another part and there is a training academy run by a pharmaceutical...

I stayed here for a conference in the hotel, so maybe my view is different from the usual guests, but it's charm is its olde worlde atmosphere, in a modern setting. The park is wonderful, though I never got a lot of time to explore it, but my room, a traditional one (once a monk's cell) was rather small for...

Being in Soreze abbey as a guest reminds you the history of their corridors. It's a fantastic way of combining calm and loneliness in a spot which was the education center of the ancien high class's children.

We stayed here for a friends wedding. Great room, great food, good service, lovely grounds, friendly staff, lovely village. Not much to do but relax, perfect. Soreze is idyllic and plenty to do if you drive around. Lovely lake nearby and a great car boot sale once a year that we went to. Huge. Great country fayre and we are...

This is a magical place. A historical building with a heart. Lovely and warm for such a large old and relatively unmodernised building, We go here every year in the winter and the children love the heated indoor pool. This place is charming and has been decorated with taste and a style which is sympathetic to the building. I totally...

As my French is not perfect I decided to contact hotel par an e-mail and they answered very quickly, in perfect English. Everyone in the hotel was very profesional and kind. Hotel is in the beautiful building, full of history. Long and spacious corridors add...

I visited this hotel some years ago and was delighted to see the improvement, such as the new swimming pool and gym. Our receptionist was very helpful explaining how to get to the car park, which is situated a short distance away The hotel itself has had a facelift and the restaurant appears warm and cosy. Service staff tried very...

We had a great time in the hotel. Very nice dinner and perfect service. The location is great, in Soreze, a quiet and nice village. Parking close to the Hotel. The restaurant offers good food and a super kind service.

10pm Saturday night, we wanted an after dinner drink in the bar, so did another party of 4. A notice said if the bar was not attended to speak to reception. Apparently, all the staff were in the kitchen and could not help and the previously helpful receptionist knew how to make a cup of coffee, but not how to...

Although it was a perfect summer evening the staff refused to serve dinner on the terrace - one of the reasons we'd booked the hotel was to eat on the terrace. They muttered about recent storms meaning some tidying up needed to be done but basically they just couldn't be bothered to straighten out the tables and chairs. One often...
