Spent a delightful week at La Closeraie, made especially congenial by the warm welcome and attentive presence of our hosts, Corinne and Francois. The 18th century house is demi-troglodyte, partly carved out of the rocky cliff that rises about the narrow street, and the dining room where Corinne offers a lavish breakfast buffet is essentially a cave. Corinne and Francois...

A lovely B&B conveniently located for exploring the surrounding vineyards. The room was spacious with a large private bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and served in their very own cave, there were lots of sweet treats to choose from and an incredible selection of homemade jams. We were even given complementary bikes to explore the area. Thank you for a very...

We stayed a night hoping we can go explore the local vineyard but unfortunately the weather wasn't so good. We we're lucky though to find this place which was recommended by the tourism office. Loved the bath which was a good way to end our 6 day tour around Loire. We might not be able to see the vineyard but...

From the street, La Closeraie, in Vouvray—the third town we visited during a leisurely six-day walking trip in the Loire Valley—presents a pleasant, modest aspect. But within! The house opens to generous common rooms; two lovely, green courtyards; a very generous suite of bedroom and large bathroom (tub, no shower), closed off by door from other spaces; and, most surprising,...

Stayed here 4 nighs in August for the Vouvray Wine Festival. Spotlessly clean bedroom overlooking very quiet street near to centre of Vouvray within easy walking distance of the centre. Owners speak good English and made us very welcome. The breakfast is in a troglodyte room set in the side of the cliff that the house is built into. The...

This was an excellent location in Vouvray. Corinne and Francoise were friendly hosts and our room was large and bathroom modern. Fantastic bath! Corinne was an extraordinary cook, providing a breakfast feast, all home made. The unusual dining room was an added extra and the garden provided an outdoor area for tea and a good book.

We stayed at La Closeraie for 3 nights in August 2014 for a family wedding in Tours. Our hostess was charming helpful and a great cook. The room and bathroom were both spacious and quiet, clean and beautifully furnished. The breakfast in the troglodyte room was delicious and varied. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Corinne welcomes you into the small wine village of Vouvray, in the heart of the Loire valley, where her typical touraine-style house is located. The 18th century house has been completely restored by her owner to create a refined atmosphere while maintaining the spirit of the place, such as the troglodyte cave where the breakfasts are served, that was originally used to extract the juice of the grapes during the wine production. All the guest rooms are individually decorated and comfortably furnished. La Closeraie is a nice and quiet place, ideally situated to rest and visit the city of Tours, the Touraine vineyards and the most splendid châteaux of the Loire such as Amboise, Chenonceau, Chambord and Chaumont sur Loire to mention but a few. ... more   less
