Stayed for a few days last week. It is a lovely setting and the staff couldn't do enough for you. We had a lovely room with two balconies and a sitting room. It was very good value. The food in the evening was excellent. They only did lunches at weekends and the restaurant isn't open every evening. We checked before we went and they replied to our e-mail promptly

We stayed here for a friends wedding nearby and pleased we did. Its quiet with amazing views and good wine too. Our room (6) had a lounge and terrace and was spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was fab and the steak huge! Would highly recommend and return.

While others will talk about the pool, large rooms, the cheap cost etc as to why this hotel is good... for me it is the brilliant staff. Lawrence and his brother Eric are a joy as are all the other members of staff. Really small things, like knowing that we were going out for a large lunch but highlighting later that they could whip up a snack or two. I was really sad about leaving just because I felt so comfortable because of them, might also be the weather. They have some of the best staff we have ever encountered. We were fortune enough to meet the owners of this place and we said the same thing to them. The food is brilliant as a side point. We stayed here as it was cheaper so we could use the money on more expensive meals in st emilion. However I think we had some of the best food here - if they could fly me a croque monsieur each week I'd be delighted, and be very overweight. Thank you for a lovely stay. I think we will be back... soon

We visited and had a perfectly good stay. Room a little tired but fine. There was a wedding the second night we stayed which was noisy and children running up and down knocking on doors late in the night...not hotels fault but warning at booking might be wise? Breakfast very good and staff friendly and helpful.

We booked a demi-pension three day stay here with the aim of looking around the area. It was towards end-of-season, the there were not too many other residents. Our room (suite) on the first floor was more than adequate - huge comfortable bed, well-equipped bathroom and functional lounge area. In keeping with French practice, no refrigerator or coffee-making facilities. The room had two balconies and a pleasant outlook over the surrounding trees. The setting of the hotel is lovely - a large dining room and outside terrace overlooking the valley, which gives a very tranquil feel to the whole place. Staff were helpful and polite, but their capability in English gave me little chance to brush up my French! Food was good - a varied breakfast (continental) and a short but creative dinner menu. The cooking at dinner was well-judged and the portions generous. Good wine by the glass, as well as bottles of course. It was notable there was a good number of non-resident diners each evening and lunchtime. Testament to the restaurant. The hotel is a little off the beaten track, which helps the sense of tranquillity. But the Dordogne is a few km away, with a choice of pleasant villages to explore nearby. If you want to unwind, this is quite a nice spot. Oh - and a lovely pool and surrounding sun area. We would return.
