Before leaving León, I needed a quiet room to work from with little distraction from the common younger visitor crowd. I'm an older traveler, and appreciate the adventurists, but had work to do ~ The owner gave me a great deal on a room and the staff provided outstanding service while I finished out my two weeks. If you're a non-typical, need to work, or maybe more quiet-type of visitor, Los Cheles is a find. Thanks!
I arrived to Leon looking for a hostel. I walked around for a bit and found Los Cheles. It was close the the tour company that I would be doing my volcano tours with. When I asked how much the price was they told me $5 for a room with 4 people. It was a really good deal for my budget. They stated that their private rooms were $12 a night. The staff is very friendly and sweet. They provide tours and even shuttles to the beach or other spots in Nicaragua. I felt very safe. There were only three downsides that might make it difficult for others to stay. 1. There was no A/C in the private room just a ceiling fan. 2. There is no breakfast included. 3. The shower in the private room is only cold water. Again it just depends if you’re a traveler that doesn’t mind roughing it out. It’s a very small hostel so not a lot of people were around. If you prefer being surrounded with other travelers then maybe this might not be the spot for you. Overall I enjoyed my stay. …
This place is super cheap, it isn't very clean But for the price it's good! The best thing about this place was the receptionist, Chester, really really awesome guy! Always ready to help and always up for a good chat! He alone is worth a visit!
First of all the place is really cheap! There is a bed and wifi what more do you need. When me and my friend arrived at the hostel, i found out that i had forgotten my iPhone at the previous hostel we where at, so the guy at the desk moved mountains for me so i could have my phone back, he called the other hostel multiple times, and even managed to get us some transport back to the hostel where i found my phone!
the guy running the place is a real pleasure. He is very reliable and helpful with a little touch of amazing craziness. my friends and i stayed in the dorms which are basic but totally worth their price. Highly recommended, this place is right next to everything you need, and you can even use the kitchen and cook for yourself if you are on a low budget (supermarket is less than 5 mins away!)
