My husband and I booked with this Hostel to do the overnight camping trip on Volcano Telica... At short notice. We turned up unprepared with small backpacks, but the hostel helped us out with lending bigger packs. Our guide was Gerard and he was fantastic. We drove our car to the start off point where the volcano mud baths are,...

A place for slightly alternative people (the dorms anyway), but it is friendly to all. Rooms are decent, staff is friendly and they offer it all for a good price, but most important they do it for a good cause. Definitely a recommendation

I was travelling with a friend and we had a private double room (nice and clean). The common areas of the hostel are very welcoming and pleasant to hang around. We did Cerro Negro (almost everybody does it), but I had chosen Sonati because it was the one that guaranteed me the organisation of the 2-days hike to Telica (you...

The staff were very friendly and helpful! When we went to check in our room hadn't been cleaned but they upgraded us no problem to a larger room at no extra cost. Rooms were clean enough with option for ac. The pool is not for laying out and enjoying the sun however it was nice to jump in and cool...

We stayed in a large private room. The pool was lovely as it is very hot in leon. We got air conditioning and it worked well. Nice functional kitchen. This was the cleanest hostel we stayed in. Really enjoyed our stay.

Sonati seems to be an environmental education program first, and host and second. It's advertised online as a hostel but it doesn't seem to be their priority. I understand much of the income from their tours and hostel rentals goes toward the free environmental education they provide to local students, which is amazing. But this review is for the hostel...

Dear Elle, We appreciate your comments, each one of them helps us to improve every day. While it is true, we have our businesses: hostel and tour fund environmental activities, all are our priorities. We are very sorry about your experience in our hostel, with the kitchen is a bit difficult if the same people who stay in our hostel...

We stayed here for a couple of nights and splashed out on a private room. At first glance the room was beautifully laid out and clean but after getting into bed we found it contained quite a lot of someone else's hair. The staff and clientele seemed friendly enough, if a little over trendy. The pool was a nice touch...

Dear Samuel, Thank you for your comment. The water filling has a symbolic price, we ask people to have their own bottle, all our income is used to finance our environmental projects. We offer tours from our agency and if we do not have a scheduled tour, we send it to the agencies we work with, the price depends on...

Great hostel, very affordable. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Claudia is great in giving you info on what to do in Leon. The rooms are very clean and the A/C super cold as Leon is very hot. One of the better hostels in Leon.

Pool was really dirty as well as the kitchen. Prices of the tours are not the cheapest, so look further if you want a better price. The people are really friendly. The private rooms are upstairs and the dorms downstairs with the pool. Ask for towels, they have them!! In the center of the town and near shops and just...

Dear Gabi, Thank you very much for your comment, we have taken some steps to improve on the points you mention, but certainly we also need to keep the common kitchen clean with the help of other guests. Our tours are competitively priced, we also fund environmental projects and depend on our hostels and tours. This is what makes us...
