This is a clean, well- located Hostel, that is good for a stay of 1 night or a week. not a lot of luxuries , but fairly quiet, good kitchen facility and staff are very helpful. In the middle of an area of good local Nica restaurants,it has a small swimming pool, good sitting area , and a self-serve beverage bar.
Loved this hostal. Owner is foreign (Dutch?) but the place is run by local staff (not so common in Nicaragua) who were fantastic in every way. Helpful, great with advice on where to go and what to see, always around to answer questions, happy to share a beer and a game of pool on their very decent table in the common area at the front of the hostal. Private room for 2 people that we stayed in was nice, clean, good fans (needed in sizzling Leon), great value (8 USD/person). Location is a few blocks from central square, but Leon is pretty compact and you can find everything you need in terms of restaurants and sights within easy walking distance. Finally, and most importantly, great hammocks! Lots of them, large ones for two people and smaller ones, spaced all around the common area which also has a nice cool plunge pool that you will probably find yourself jumping into during the middle of the day.…
This is great place to stay. Ideal for those seeking cool, relaxing vibe. Breakfast, free coffee and water was very welcome. And the small pool was great for relaxing after a hot trip. I would definitely stay here again.
The hostel is around 10 minutes walk from the Cathedral. Staff are very friendly. Got my volcano boarding tour and couple of shuttles organised through them. Was done professionally. Rooms are basic, but quiet and comfortable. Bathrooms are tad small. You can buy water, beer or soft drinks from them, almost at the same rate you would pay outside. There is a pool table, books for reading and tiny pool. Decor is quite nice and rustic.
