The staff at the hotel greeted us cheerfully and seemed happy to help and serve us on every single occasion. The ambience is welcoming and relaxed. There are ample spaces to lounge or sit at a table by the pool, which is perfect for kids and adults alike, with a good size and a shallow plateau. Location couldn't be better, two minutes off the main square. The restaurant serves delicious vegetarian and vegan food in good portions. The rooms are spacious, clean, and cool thanks to ceiling fans and large doors that can be kept open at night with curtains closed. We felt that our possessions were perfectly secure there. It's worth highlighting that during and since our visit at the end of May, there continues to be absolutely no involvement of tourists in the violence that has crippled the country's tourism business. We had a perfectly easy time getting around. These people depend on tourism and are suffering badly now. Don't cancel your trip! Leon is an enchanting city.…
I stayed in a twin room with a friend at Casa Abierta. I wanted a little bit of luxury that didn’t break the budget as I had been at the beach with outdoor showers, lots of sand and very few “mod cons”. Casa Abierta was great for this. Definitely had a hotel vibe, our room was very nicely presented and the swimming pool provides some much needed respite from the stifling Leon heat. Breakfast is not included and it was just ok, not fantastic. It is a bit more expensive than other hostels but great if you want something a bit higher end
This is a great place to stay...eco friendly with a great restaurant serving delicious vegetarian food in the spacious garden and poolside. The accommodation is very attractively presented in local brick, recycled wood and concrete modern and stylish rooms ,with bathrooms ensuite , which have their own terrace and outdoor chairs aligned around the pool in hacienda style. The location is a huge advantage, being really central, close to the cathedral and Parque Central. We felt this could, as another reviewer noted, be excellent with some relatively minor improvements such as better signage, especially over the entrance, and attention to the reception area.
Our stay at Casa Abierta was just one night but we really liked it. The swimming pool and the area to rest around are really chilled and nice. We had a private room for 2 with some chairs to sit in front of the room (not too far from the pool, the rooms are all located around the pool I think). The room was quite big with very high ceilings, we had a fan which did not cool the room optimally (a bit to high) but the temperature was still fully ok. The bathroom is just one sliding door away from the bed, you can't close the door properly so intimacy is not 100% but nothing problematic. The bed was HUGE and very comfortable. Overall one of the best rooms we had in NIcaragua. We paid 40 dollars, which is ok for what's offered. The breakfast (not included) was awesome with the best vegan pancakes I've tried so far. So if you're looking for a comfortable room in the center of Leon with a nice pool, this is a good option. I wish we would have stayed 2 or 3 nights to enjoy it a bit longer.…
Great hostal with beautiful outdoor pool, and large rooms opening to the pool. Bed was super comfy. Everything is locally sourced and environmentally friendly. The food is homemade, local, and vegetarian. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend and will return.
