Stayed one night. Janakpur is a very hot city, temperatures goes up to 44 degrees. Thus AC is very very important. The room itself had AC which did not work!!!!!!! It was boiling ( 44 degrees). Temple is close by and shops are just outside the hotel. The bed was comfortable but hot. The bathroom was simple.Breakfasts was a little...

Really peaceful place to live in. Hotel's room is nice, clean and decent, and really affordable. Well behaved and co-operative staff made my stay here at Janakpur pleasant. Main temple here: Janaki Temple is must to visit religious site. You can visit other religious sites on foot, well we had to hire car to visit a 20km site called Dhanusadham.

Hotel Aanand has a website but not sure how accurate it is, they don't respond to emails so we booked by phone from Kathmandu. Our dark, inferno-like room was clean with short 5'6" beds and mozzie nets. The grimy bathroom had no glass or mesh on the windows, which meant there was little we could do to prevent the evil...

“take a different hotel - IF you must stay here, search on internet for best price and be sure is UPSTAIR room not dungeon ground floor. Lastly the price they ask is more than double the real value - if you white skin or foreigner they say 1250 rupee but price should be maximum 500 rupee and even then I stay elsewhere - anywhere else could only be better.”
