We had a hard time finding a place to stay in Luang Namtha, mostly because of the bathrooms. The VIP rooms at Dokchampa have a bathtub, which was the deciding factor. The hotel is at a great location, our tours started a block away, we rented a motorbike just opposite. Shops and restaurants are all around the hotel and the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights with a 3 day trek in between. The room was spacious and clean and had tea and coffee facilities, shampoo, toothbrushes and combs, drinking water, tv and a fan and AC. However we didn't need to use these as it was fairly cool in the evening. We needed to get the spare cover out... More

Dokchampa Hotel Luang Namtha. Good basic Lao hotel at Luang Namtha. Clean basic rooms. Safe parking for motorbikes at backyard. Near night market, about 5minutes walk. Small supermarket near hotel. One bar near hotel. Quite good value, rooms were cheap.

Title says it all. We were not expecting much but found it very grim and noisy. One morning after trekking, we were woken up quite early and the maid forced herself into the room past me. She started shouting when I asked her to leave as we were checking out that afternoon. They are very loud when cleaning the other... More

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Dokchampa. After a series of unfortunate events, involving a 12 hour bus that dropped me off at 3AM in the freezing cold in the middle of nowhere (about 20 minutes by car to Luang Namtha, I rolled into town trembling and soaking wet from the rain around 4AM. I knocked... More

I moved here from Thoulasith GH, which I felt was a far worse deal than that provided at Dokchampa. Overall I was happy but there are a few things to watch out for, namely: Bedding didn't look too clean so I asked that it be changed. This was done promptly. I did notice that it wasn't changed on the day... More

well, I had just emerged from the local hospital after "treatments" for bangs & bruises from a motorcycle accident (another story) - bloody, and with no where to stay - as I had been lured into a horrific place called "the riverside resort" by a wildly inaccurate lonely planet "review" and had, that morning, escaped that place... so I was... We stayed in double room with air-con. With the discounted price from online booking, this price is of good value. The bathroom with heater, but the heater doesn't functioned that well. The wifi connection is unstable but i still managed to get the right "spot" to online with least disturbance. The beds are comfortable, and they have room service daily.... More

I had the single room 401. When I came into my room in the night there was a horrible smell coming out of the bathroom. I switched rooms next day and asked for a discount for that night cause of that horrible smell. But suddenly the staff did not understand English anymore and it was like talking to a wall.... More
