We were at Ongava Lodge for 3 days after spending 3 days at the Tented Camp. We found the accommodations to be lovely and well appointed. All of our needs were met quickly and efficiently. Our group (2 couples) stayed in the cabins with the longest stair walks but we didn't mind as we are relatively young (relative to the... More

The location of this lodge overlooking the waterhole is lovely. The rooms were comfortable, but the overall service lacking here. Rooms were not turned down the first night, and our second night someone had moved pillows off the bed onto a chair. The food was ok but nothing special. Game drives were expensive compared to other lodges, did not include... More

Ongava is a private estate just outside the main gate of the national park. We stayed there in October 2016. The facilities are great with a very nice main lodge, restaurant/bar and excellent chalets which are a short walk along the ridge. The food is excellent all round, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The bar overlooks a... More

If I could do a 3.5. that would be our evaluation of Ongava. It is a nice setting but lots of climbing up and down steep stairs, and a long bumpy ride in from the road. Room spacious and comfortable. Service basically clueless...we had asked for a couple of things in the room and were assured they would be fixed... More

- Stay here two or three days and skip the Etosha Park! This is a real adventure in the nature. -Great Lodge with very good food! - The reservoir of the lodge is much nicer for a safari then the Etosha Nationalpark. - The dinner with a view in to the reservoir is stunning! - the team is outstanding Thanks... We stayed at 6 lodges in total in Namibia and there is no doubt Ongava Lodge was lacking both in terms of facilities and staff attitude when compared to all the other lodges. It was clear the staff merely performed to the lowest acceptable standard . We were very glad to be there for only 2 nights . We also... More

I wold say this is indeed a luxury lodge, no doubt about that, but the problem is the location. The Ongava Game Reserve has little game to offer and guides do not pick on them easily. Etosha is much better but there you race with other cars and especially rented ones, so there is no exclusiveness. Staff is helpful and... More

I agree with previous reviewers that this is not as marketed a luxury lodge. The accommodation is 3 star. The food is ok, but not what you would expect from a luxury lodge. We saw a lot of animals on our game drives into Etosha and Ongava. The guide unfortunately kept referring to how delicious the animals that we were... More

After 3 Wilderness Safaris camps, which have a very consistent feel, flow, reception, arrangements and very high standard, we arrived at Ongava Lodge. The rooms were very spacious and have been upgraded, but for a lodge that markets itself as 5 star, it was sorely lacking. The prices are very high, and yet something simple like a mini bar (which... Ongava markets itself to the luxury market. This review is reflective of that aim. The setting, accommodation and our guide were fabulous. What was lacking were the little touches, such as when you have been out in a truck for 3-4 hours, and come back covered in dust, all previous lodges greet you with washers and a cool drink. This...
