The park was pleasant but the camping spaces were very close... to be expected in such a popular park though. The walk to the lighthouse was really nice and since we walked early in the morning, there was no once else on the trail!

We love this spot for camping and find it such an enjoyable spot with varied activities! The bike paths, fishing, sun bathing, Lake Michigan beach, hiking trails, kayaking, and well-run facilities make it a hit for campers! Make your reservations EARLY - reservations fly!
From what I recall the Lake Michigan beech access had signs about no pets, but maybe the Hamlin Lake access is different. Lots of people had pets at the camp ground when I went, so I'm sure there is something for the pets.
