This place used to be so wonderful. But, now it is tired. It needs a new pool renovation and some amenities like a hot tub under the stars and free breakfast. But, overall it is the nicest place on the Island. They could easily add some items without too much trouble. The cost seems to low enough to make some changes.
Very good experience on all levels. Room was full of character and charm. Off road trails all around the resort. I had a great time. The staff was helpful and friendly. There is plenty to do for all. I will return.
What a great facility. We celebrated our 40th anniversary as an organization and the team came in from all over the world. Drummond Island Resort and Conference Center handled our event flawlessly. The accommodations were perfect; rustic, cozy, and clean. The restaurants were wonderful. Everyone had a great time. I must also add that Brittany Villa was nothing short of stellar. Every detail was thoroughly thought through and executed to perfection. Thanks Brittany for your expertise and professionalism in making this a great event for us. We I’ll always remember this weekend.
Very nice course and in pretty good shape even though it was very wet. Fairways in pretty good condition and so were the fairways. However the resort left a lot to be desired. Obviously very tired. Told we couldn't check in until 3:00 even though there were maybe 3 cars in the parking lot and then couldn't get in our room until more like 5:00pm. Girl at check-in was not very pleasant or welcoming and seemed to not have much personality nor was she friendly AT ALL. Comforters on bed and blankets and pillows on day bed (?) very old and didn't look at all clean. Very, very rustic place. Even the hotel (?) looked cold and unwelcoming. Pins (bar & restaurant) was better. Jessica was outgoing, friendly and finely someone personable. Drinks were ridiculously expensive, but didn't realize that until we got our bill. Way overcharged and not sure if they didn't know how to ring up correctly or didn't know their oz. measurements. Got charged for 22oz. beers when they were 12oz? Pretty much the same with wines. But we attributed it to end of their season and things are definitely slowing down for them. I wasn't all that impressed, but we did have a good time at the bar and met some friendly, fun people also trying to enjoy the evening. Also weird, they've moved the pro shop into the hotel lobby, BEHIND the front desk AND .... you're not allowed back there to look??? This place needs some management attention. Not sure I'll recommend to anyone or ever go back, which is sad as the course alone deserves better.
We were one of 8 couples who stayed here as part of a golf package. I'll review the course separately. We enjoyed our room even if it was a little dark even with the lights all on. The room had a mini fridge and microwave that both came in handy. No where except with a phone call could we find out if the room came equipped with a blow dryer for my wife. It did. Old fashioned door keys instead of card readers. Be aware it is a 1.2 mile cart ride to the golf driving range and first tee. Pool was clean and warm and the sauna, while not used, appeared real nice. Really liked the outdoor fire pit. So why the so-so rating? The lack of social skills by one of the first desk workers is the reason. She clearly did not want to be there and several people in our group all experienced the same rudeness. I'm sure she's probably a very nice person but her forte is clearly not dealing with customers. That being said, if our group decides to return I'd have no complaint about returning.
