I will give a 9 to this small, clean and safe hotel. When I go to Santa Cruz, this is the option, the restaurant is very good!, I like to be at Tatanka, since I can move to different beaches near by, there I found a place to keep safe my personal belongings and at the end of day go to the swimming pool and sleep comfortably all night for another day of fun at Santa Cruz area.
I have tried to stay at t his hotel two times in the last 4 months and they have not been open either time. Both times I have found people on the property but it does not really look like any maintenance is happening. I think it might have been a nice place once upon a time.

I have been travelling to Costa Rica for the past 7 years. I usually go in May. I travel with a group of surf buddies and 3 years ago we discovered Tatanka! Giovanni, the Italian host is very nice and is happy to help you with anything you need. The pizza he makes is sooo good. It is really great to have gourmet pizza just steps from your room. There is no need to travel to Tamarindo to get a great meal. If you are a surfer, this is a GREAT place to stay. Tatanka is 5 minutes away from Playa Negra and about 30 from Marbella. Its a perfect spot to stay at if you want to surf these breaks. Not to mention, Tatanka is 1-2 minutes away from a little known beach break known as Supertubos or Escuelitas because it can throw super tubes and it breaks in front of the Junquillal…
