Passing through town and decided to stay the night here in the camper. No-one was around so we had the place to ourselves. Office lady was pleasant. The site is well maintained and has useful facilities for a passing camper. Toilet block and kitchen were all very clean and in top order. TV / lounge room was a little dated...

We had the pleasure to stay in Opunake Holiday Park this winter and got a real surprise from this holiday park. The facilities were spotless and modern, Jase and Lisa, the hosts, were incredibly lovely and the beach, oh well, it is one of the most stunning beach in the area with swells that will impress. We can;t wait to...

We went for the 1st week of winter school holidays with our kids and it was awesome! The main kitchen area was clean and our cabin was small but well appointed. Would definitely recommend to others as an affordable place right next to the beach in a truly beautiful part of NZ. Well done guys.

Well located, with modern facilities. We stayed in winter, and hardly anyone else there. Games room was locked up so it couldnt be used. Showers are annoying due to their timer operation. Located opposite side of the road to the beach.

Both Men and Womens shower and toilet facilities where dirty/filthy. Many of the men's cubicles didn't lock or have toilet paper. Womens were missing flushers and dirty. Showers full of...

Small cabins but well equipped with fridge, kettle and a set of plates, pots and cutlery. comfortable beds. Big kitchen with cookers, microwaves etc. Large shower and toilet block but isn't cleaned each day in the off season. I enjoyed staying here last December during the New Year. Its a quiet place to camp with a nice beach overlooking sunset. There is nothing much around to see outside camp since the town except for the fish n chip in the town centre but hey, thats why you are camping.

Our second time here and enjoyed our stay, last time in a camper and this year in a very well equipped clean cabin. On coastal footpath which was well marked and walking distance to shops and excellent fish and chip shop

We stayed one night in a cabin and found everything clean and well maintained. The communal kitchen and bath rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. The campground is right behind a very pleasant beach. The smaller cabins do not include sheets and towels in the price but I believe that the self-contained units do. Staff very helpful.
