Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is nothing fancy, but it served our needs to attend the Fresh Grass Folk Festival in North Adams. It could use an updating, but overall it was pretty good, The outdoor patio seating was comfortable. the owner and his family were nice , and the housekeeping staff was friendly and accommodating. I had stayed at a few places this year, a Marriott and an Inn in New Hampshire and the A/C was very loud. This A/C was powerful and quiet. The windows were newer vinyl double pane of good quality, and had those security tabs that are nice.

This hotel gets you into an amazingly convenient location near Williams college, Clark art institute, downtown williamstown being just a mile away. It’s definitely seen better days but the rooms are clean and air conditioned and the bed was comfortable. The staff/owners were all super friendly and helpful in recommending places in the area. Given how pricey everything is in the area and just as comparable I’d say we lucked out finding this place.

I had a wonderfully quiet and relaxing experience in my room. Certainly the motel could use some updating but everything functioned well including the wifi, the air conditioning, and the shower -- essentials for a good stay. It is conveniently located within short walking distance to Williams College and the restaurant district of Williamstown. The hotel staff were especially helpful in recommending excursions and restaurants. While there was plenty of parking, I found it completely unnecessary to move the car during my visit to both the town and the museum.

The room was basic but clean and the office staff were pleasant and helpful. The desk said that they offer a continental breakfast, which they no longer do (at least not at this time of year). If you are longer for a night’s sleep and don’t want to pay a lot, the Northside is perfect.

I was here with friends and we stayed over for couple of weeks. The cleaning was timely and the heating in particular was very comfortable, which prevents you from freezing in MA. Furthermore, the owner at the front desk is very kind and responsive. When we go for him for questions, he takes no hesitation. It is such a heart warming experience here and wish him all the best!

We selected this motel for the low price and because of the motel configuration with private entrance to the room. A friend had stayed in August and recommended it. Its walking distance location to Spring Street and the campus was also a plus. We had room 100. There was a moldy smell to the room, the TV didn't work at first until a motel employee fixed the set-up, the phone didn't work, the bedding didn't seem clean (I removed something that looked like a mouse dropping between the blanket and comforter), the bathroom faucet wouldn't turn all the way off, there was no exhaust fan or trash can in the bathroom. Walls are pretty thin, too. Our neighbor was a loud talker. To someone who has more tolerance for items like these than money to spend, I'd recommend the motel.

I didn’t even stay one night I was so disgusted bythe condition of the hotel room. Cigarette burns in the blanket. The floor, chairs, tables were all filthy. They said they would refund me all but $35 due to having been in the room! Wouldn’t recommend!

It is unbelievable to me that a motel like this can charge what they do and get away with it. It is a popular area though and all the hotels/motels in the area we tried were booked up. The linens least seemed to be clean, but the rest of it was so ancient it just felt gross, including the carpet and dirty doors. It was one night so we survived but honestly this place needs to have new everything put it and a real good cleaning.

I'll be totally upfront, this motel isn't for everyone. While my room was very clean, every surface showed obvious signs of age and wear. The floors creaked loud enough I was sure my neighbors could hear, the bathroom was tiny and old, and two of the lights didn't work.
But I want to stress that if all you need is somewhere clean, safe, and quiet with kind staff for a couple of nights, this isn't a bad place to stay at all. Every employee I spoke to was very friendly and helpful, the motel was quiet, I never felt worried about safety, and everything was, again, clean and well-maintained.
If quaint and cozy is what you like and you don't mind an older, smaller room, this place is great. If you're looking for modern aesthetics and luxury, look elsewhere.

This is an older building but well kept. Registration tip: call to confirm an online registration with a special request. Registration person was great about shuffling things to get us the ground floor room we required and thought we'd reserved! Onsite staff responded immediately when there was a smoke detector issue. Close to restaurants, college, Clark Institute. Out of state cars suggest lots of pass through guests, it was very quiet on a Saturday night. Would definitely stay there again, economical option for the area, safe, clean.
