This place was not worth the drive from NYC/ Westchester, not even a little bit. Small pool, tiny beach, out dated everything. Giant tents were allowed on the small amount of beach space available, with people "saving space." The woman who ran the front desk was incredibly

Nice clean rooms, you can't beat the view. My favorite place to stay on the Cape! They book up fast. The staff is extremely nice. I need to remember to book early, they fill up fast. You can't go wrong with this motel.

We discovered this gem 5 years ago and our family has been coming back every summer since. Such a great, reliable stay each time. Place is always clean, located right on the water with its own beach, the rooms are always well kept and staff has always been friendly and helpful.

The Surfcomber always delivers. This was our 7th summer in a row visiting. It has the perfect oceanfront location (excellent beach!) and a great spot to take day trips to Hyannis, Chatham or Cape Cod Bay. The rooms are always clean, comfortable and kept up daily. The pool,

Horrible !! They claimed to be loyal to their guests but send a letter like the one we received in the attached photo. We started going to the surfcomber when my sister was diagnosed with end-of-life cancer. After her passing, we decided as a family to continue the tradition

Response from TheSurfcomber, General Manager at Surfcomber on the Ocean
Responded 1 Dec 2018
Kathleen S, your response to our letter has certainly caught us off guard. It was not our intention to cause you, or anyone in your party, any harm but simply communicate to you that we can no longer host such a large group as it has an adverse impact on our other guests who happen to be staying at our hotel at the same time as your party. I do feel compelled to point out, in regard to the charges you leveled above and beyond your disappointment at our letter, that our hotel was built 60 years ago by the same 100% Irish family that still owns it today, and many of our staff are also Irish. Furthermore, if our staff was ever as unprofessional as you claim, you should have brought that to our attention as we would take these accusations very seriously. As the letter stated, we foster no ill-will toward your party. We would have been more than happy to host any of you as individuals but the booking of nearly one third of our hotel rooms created an environment that, while surely enjoyable for you, left others feeling like they were encroaching on someone else’s private party. While this was a difficult decision to make, we strive to make sure our small hotel is a relaxing and inclusive environment for all and that sometimes requires respectably turning away large groups. I hope you and the rest of your party are able to find a location more suited to the size of your group and wish you nothing but the best.

Which grocery stores/restaurants are nearby?
Hi Kelly, We were on the 1st floor and had a king bed(no kitchen). Best bet is to phone or email them as Some rooms do have a sea view, maybe you could get a kitchen and a view! The hotel is right on the beach, will be lovely for your toddler. For food think about Skippers Chowder house, Only 5mins walk but does get busy! (We ended going several times as it was that good). Enjoy!

Do you allow a well behave dog at any time of the year?
Hello rn58, Unfortunately we do not allow pets at any time of the year. But there are a number of good kennels around. Best, Lisa.

Do they really not allow kids under 8 on the 2nd floor?
I had a 5 year old and 7 month old and booked a second floor ocean view online. They called me to say they had to change my room to a first floor no ocean view due to this policy.
