My granddaughter Kadia wants to be a veterinarian so her five-day "nana trip" was all about animals starting with Parc Safari near Montreal where she got to feed the camels. We finished up with a night at Colonial Hill which Kadia quickly announced was the best. Terry took us out to the alpacas, and just as she said they would...

My girlfriend and I shared a lovely, romantic stay at Colonial Hill during a very cold and snowy couple of days in January. Terry and her two well-behaved, very sweet dogs were welcoming and made us feel immediately at home. Despite the cold, the accommodations were cozy and we were able to spend as much time with the alpacas as...

We had a very restful stay with our two teenage children. We visited Amherst and Wachusett Ski Mountain both very convenient to the Farm. Terry was a great hostess, catered to our meal preferences and even took us on a hike. The farm was very warm and inviting. And, the farm was a great thing to experience. Gary gave us...

If you are looking for a special time, stay a night here. Experience sleeping in a farm house built in the 1700s, and enjoy meeting and learning about the 24 alpaca residents grazing outside the door. Terry could not have made us to feel more welcome as we were shown to our room, and invited to make ourselves at home....

some good things here, some poor things..... the house itself was clean but needs some repairs, decorations and new beds, etc.... - it's almost like opening this up as a b&b was an afterthought or a way to make some extra money once the kids left home..... the breakfast was fine for continental which is what was advertised going out...

We always work hard to accommodate our guests. Our Inn was built in 1742 so it brings with it the antique atmosphere with wide oak floors, post and beam construction, and wood paneling. Improvements have been made to keep our guests comfortable in this colonial style home. It's a place where you can relax, feel at home and be yourself....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Colonial Hill Alpaca Farm and B&B is located on Rte 32, 2 miles north of Petersham Center. Our 3 rooms all have full private baths w/ AC during the summer months. Continental Breakfast is served at your desired time. Our guest den has satellite TV with accessible High speed internet. We have a gift shop filled with Alpaca apparel, teddy bears, and yarn. Alpacas graze on 3 1/2 acres just behind our B&B. It's a very surprising, unique experience, unlike any other B&B you will find in the world. This year we added a family suite that accommodates up to 4 people, with privacy for the adults and kids. Just across the street is our community golf course open to the public and curling club open during the winter. ... more   less
