Very impressive building and even inside it was clearly well maintained. Our room was large, if a bit old fashioned, but comfortable and warm. The bar staff were good (we had to try to ignore the argument between the bar manager and barman), and drinks were very reasonably priced which is unusual at this sort of venue as you are...

The welcome was great, friendly and helpful. The single (business traveler) room was warm and clean...no issues The food... no problem, squid was fast and fine. I am no cheap guy, but I went for pizza... it's my birthday! White wine with first (Sauvignon blanc.... not great) Red Shiraz ... not so great but ok..warm flavour Overall .... no problem...

Stayed recently due to its location from sheffield and with easy drive. I was impressed with the long sweeping drive up to the old Manor House. On arrival there wasn't anyone on reception and had to ring the bell, I thought mistakenly that this was a four star but found it to be only 3 stars. The receptionist when they...

Myself and my partner visited on the weekend before valentines as a treat. We enjoyed room service, an evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast which were all absolutely delicious and of very high quality. The room was lovely and we enjoyed our stay. Over all a good experience just a shame the spa was fully booked!

Very friendly staff, who kindly upgraded us on arrival. Beautiful surroundings, very picturesque even on cold or foggy days. Drinks in the bar pretty reasonable. We stayed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. It was nice and quiet on Sunday. The pool is small and it's a bit of a lottery as to whether or not you attend at the...

Booked via website, and did not get what was promised. Box room in the Coach House, single bed, very dingy, outdated decor and strange smell. Did not stay and was given full refund. Whoever rated this as 3* hotel should have gone to Specsavers. Looks great from the outside in beautiful grounds but don't be fooled. This is a B&B...

Booked two rooms for my 2 grown up sons and their wife / girlfriend. Nice spacious rooms and bathroom with toiletries. Tea and coffee making facilities and big TV. I am told the bed was really comfortable. They were in the coach house and paid 69 pounds per room with no breakfast. Breakfast was 12 pounds so as we were...

The restaurant and grounds are lovely. But...as a former publican when asked if i'd like a 'double' measure of Martini I questioned the manager and was told that vermouth is sold by 25ml measures....then we ordered food, 2 beef casseroles with Yorkshire pudding. The Yorkshire puddings were lovely as was the vegetables and gravy but the beef....I couldn't cut it...
