We just returned from a 3 night stay at A Village Bed and Breakfast. We were visiting friends in Newton, so this was ideal for us. Perfectly located for access to the T, our friends' home and everywhere else we needed to go. Claudia is delightful and a very accommodating hostess. We stayed in the Queen Suite on the third...

Bertha, so nice of you to take the time to write. I was so happy to meet you both, and always feel that is magical, meeting people one would never have the opportunity to be with. I was so impressed with your relationships, and your activities and of course, your husband's running for almost 2 hours in the morning. Hope...

My husband and I travelled from half way round the world to visit family nearby - a new grandchild. Claudia was warm and caring, interesting to talk to and interested in her guests without being intrusive in any way. We very much enjoyed the lively, and sometimes lengthy conversation over Claudia’s wonderful breakfast. Claudia was very accommodating, meeting our needs...

I've now stayed here twice, in two different rooms, two different seasons, several days each time. This is an exceptionally comfortable and aesthetically pleasing place, and Claudia's attention to detail and genuine caring for her guests creates a consistently welcoming energy. The neighborhood is one of greater Boston's very finest; a totally quiet street yet less than two blocks from...

I agree with the other guests that this B&B is a great place to stay. Clean and very good facilities. Claudia was a great hostess, very friendly and easy to talk to. The location of the B&B is also excellent and conveniently located near a subway station. Highly recommended!

I could not say enough good things about A Village Bed and Breakfast and our host Claudia. The continental breakfast was superb and our host had an extensive knowledge of the area. The bed was luxuriously comfortable. The garden outside the house had beautiful hydrangeas even in late October. An easy walk to the Boston "T" made it a perfect...

My husband and I don't often stay in B and B's but after this trip, I think we will more often! A Village B and B could not have been any better and Claudia is so gracious, kind and hospitable. We really enjoyed the charming home, the wonderful breakfasts (and great coffee!), the access to the subway, and the easy...

From the moment you enter A Village B&B, you know you've entered a special place. Claudia's warm welcome is just the beginning of a , comfortable stay! Our family took advantage of the wonderful local restaurants, which were all within a short waking distance. We also visited the walking trail and Crystal Lake-again, all close by! The rooms are cozy...

The b&b was perfect for me. On a quiet street. Easy walking distance to lovely restaurants, shops, interesting sights. Space for my rented car. My first floor room had an attached porch, which was lovely for sitting in the morning with coffee or in the evening with wine. I had a refrigerator, which was great, because I kept food for...

Overall, this is a great value for the money. We especially appreciated the all-natural and organic food and natural bath products. Claudia was very hospitable and helpful when we asked questions. We paid half at the time of booking via Paypal and the balance upon arrival can only be paid by cash or check. If you want to pay the...

Thanks for your feedback, Pat. -I have been thinking of incorporating a credit card system for paying on site, and maybe will institute that in the spring, appreciate your bringing up the inconvenience as we haven't had much feedback about that particular process. All the other three rooms do have inner locks on the doors, and I agree that maybe...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A Village B and B is a homestay B & B in the heart of Newton Highlands village, steps away from restaurants, craft and clothing stores and salons. It is a bustling village complete with commerce, and offers the convenience of a great walkability score. The MBTA to Boston is steps away for access to downtown, sites, and the airport all while not needing a car. Our rooms are busiest during May through November, so reserve early beginning with the Boston Marathon. We are convenient to major routes such as the MA Turnpike, I-95 and Route 9. Great location for trips to Fenway Park, local colleges such as Boston College, Brandeis, LaSalle, and Mount Ida, not far from Babson and Olin colleges as well. Many of our guests come for workshops at Samadhi Yoga Center, the Jungian Institute, or Healing Arts in Watertown. We have rooms with private bathrooms and shared bath. Prices float accordingly. We offer a continental breakfast each morning with home made and bakery items as well as yogurt, cheese, fruits, and beverages, according to what is allowed for small B and Bs in our state. ... more   less
