Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Needs painting, tiles replaced in bathroom, carpets cleaned, room doors to outside replaced. Our looked like it had been jimmied. Smells in the room, room way to small to shove two beds in. Run away as fast as you can

Don’t believe the photos. Don’t stay here. We called the phone number of the hotel up the road where we have stayed several times. Unknown to us, that hotel is currently closed for renovations, and our call was put through to here. We thought it was our usual hotel, but under new ownership. No one explained that it was a completely different place. We found out when we arrived. Grass not mown in weeks with knee-high weeds. An old cigar butt outside the door to our room. We rented two rooms, one king size and one with two-doubles. The king size room was huge. The double was considerably smaller, and we could barely get around the beds. The room included a small table with two chairs, but not enough room to sit at it, and we could barely get past between the end of the bed and the table to get to the bathroom. The room stank of air freshener. There was a clock-radio, but no outlet to plug it in. A LOT of traffic noise. The bathroom. Retro is not the word, since the pink and black tile on the walls was clearly original from the 1950s. Which was 70 years ago. Missing bits of floor tile were filled in with gray cement. The walls above the pink wall tile were painted neon violet, and they did a crappy job. Black mold patches on the ceiling above the shower, an old nasty shower curtain, dead bugs on the floor. But the topper was the inside of the bathroom door, which was so incredibly filthy that I would guess it’s easily been over five years since anyone cleaned or painted it. Give that some thought. Not long after we arrived, another guest pulled up in their pickup and proceeded to play the truck radio at full blast. Parked right next to the office. They started setting off firecrackers. Again, right next to the office. Management doesn’t care. We had no other options since it was a holiday weekend and there were literally 15,000 people in town for a concert.

Room smelled like smoke. The bed was uncomfortable. Linen smelled like smoke. Bathroom very outdated. Towels were small and rough. Poor WiFi. No outlets on either side of the bed!!! Wall A/C was very loud. Carpet was dirty, most likely had cigarette ash crushed in it. Furniture and lamps in poor condition. Two thumbs down on this motel!!

Little to say. Very simple furniture, rooms renovated with candy colors, painting work not very professionally done. Chairs and beds worn out. Only to be recommended if you want to live cheaply. Service basic but friendly. Breakfast very, very simple.

Unnecessarily difficult when checking in. The guy was friendly but did not know much about check-in procedures and did not give a clear answer to some of my questions, which caused, among other things, an awkward interaction. Which resulted in my cc being rejected due to a wrong amount. Bit shameful. The clock-radio in the room was not plugged in and when I looked to see why, there appeared to be no socket near the bed. Awkward. But the biggest annoyance so far was that the toilet sink drained slowly and the tub did not drain at all. There was a considerable amount of water build up. Disgusting. And the room was freezing cold when I entered it, he didnt even turn on the heat after I reserved online. And the room smelled a bit exaggeratedly like air freshener. Or maybe they were cleaning products.

Room smelled like smoke and mildew. Bathroom had dirt on the floor. Towels were like cardboard. Continental breakfast consisted of dry cereal blueberry muffins and a box of dunkin munchkins. Summer in lenox is expensive however 160 a night for this motel was ridiculous.

This is a perfectly acceptable budget hotel close to Tanglewood and everything else in the Berkshires. During the summer it is difficult if not impossible to find accommodations for just one night on the weekend. I booked on Hotwire, got the room for $80. The guy at the desk was very helpful when I wanted to change the first room I was assigned (very small and dark) My room had two double beds, a fridge and a microwave., big TV, dresses and table with two chairs. Also a full closet and luggage rack. Wifi is free and strong. There are picnic tables and benches to sit at outside and the hotel sits on a hill, so you get a little view of the mountains. Continental breakfast was decent...coffee, juice and an assortment of pastries and baked goods. The place has been renovated and the bathrooms are a bit...odd. Looks like they were originally that horrid salmon-colored and black tile that was so prevalent in the 50s. They left the tile, but painted the walls lilac. When they redid the tub, it looks like they used an insert over the old tub, so the bottom of the tub is a little...squishy. Might have been better to rip the tub out and replace with a shower stall. However, the shower was hot and strong, towels were fine and they provided toiletries.re My bed was very comfortable, sheets were clean, blanket and spread new. I have no complaints and for the money, it was a great place to stay.

I booked a stay for 3 nights. I looked on the net and found the same room for much less. I called the hotel to tell them I would cancel and book online unless they matched the price. They said to call back when the manager was there. I talked to the manager and he said he would match the rate but the computer was done so I needed to call back. I called back and the manager said he had never heard of me. Then the first person I talked to said he had never spoken to me either even though I had his name. This went on and on and they continued to lie and refused to change my rate. BTW, I noticed that the rate on the net had changed about 10 minutes after I called the first time. I would never stay in a place where the management is so incredibly dishonest.

This facility is overpriced but is comfortable for a good nights sleep. The bathroom is very old with loose shower fixtures. The morning breakfast was nothing spectacular cereal ,munchkin donuts, bagels, muffins juice and coffee. We stayed here as a last resort as other motels were asking in the $200 range for one night and we were able to get a night here for $155. Excellent wifi reception in the room.

This is a definite location that makes the meaning "You get what you pay for." the operative quote to REALLY believe. I had called the hotel before arrival in order to find out if the smoking room that we reserved was a room on the 1st floor. I was told yes. The room description through this site advertised what smoking rooms were available. When we arrived for check in, we were told that all rooms were non-smoking. When questioned why they advertise smoking rooms, they said that the web site had not been updated. They lied to us. We respected that and used our car for smoking, but observed other guests walking around in rooms while smoking. Upon check in and checkout we never received an invoice for our stay. They didn't even know the rate we had reserved for....they said it was a 3rd party booking. I am writing this for smokers and non smokers: You will be lied to. If you are a non smoker you will end up in a room that has been smoked in. Stay somewhere else and truly enjoy a clean, updated room as promised. We will never be back!
