We weren’t sure what to expect as we had passed a number of motels during our travels none of which looked especially inviting. However the Briarcliff Motel was very good. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the reception staff both in the evening upon...More
This unassuming motel on Route 7, between Stockbridge and Great Barrington may look dated, but the rooms are spacious, clean and contemporary. Out front there is a fire bowl to enjoy a yarn or two with fellow travellers and out back is ample space for...More

This was the third motel we stayed at this summer, and by far the most pleasant. Very

Loved this small motel! Very clean, welcoming, with its own character!
Surrounded by green meadows, it was a perfect base for our vacation because we just sat outside until we got ready for our trips to either the nearby towns or great hiking trails!

English owners Clare & Richard Proctor have turned this classic 1960 motor lodge, with its spectacular view of Monument Mountain, into a cool 21st-century b&b. We offer great value, clean comfortable rooms …Morewith a stylish edge, free wifi, a home-made breakfast of scones, muffins and granola with locally-roasted coffee, and a warm welcome. Chill out on the deck in summer, or by the stove in our guest lounge in winter. We are five minutes from Great Barrington and Stockbridge, and under 15 from Tanglewood. Less

Sorry, I only just saw this: there are a lot of great lake-swimming spots nearly. We like Benedict Pond, which is open to all and has a small sandy beach and picnic facilities (you can even buy a small bundle of firewood and make a little campfire) - about ten minutes from the motel. Lake Mansfield, which is in Great Barrington itself, is where the local kids learn to swim, and is a great family destination.
