We stayed for a night at the Briarcliff and will definitely stay again on our next visit to the area. Besides being conveniently located between Stockbridge and Great Barrington, the motel is clean, comfortable and has a well-maintained 1960's style decor. Also, the staff are ve

We weren’t sure what to expect as we had passed a number of motels during our travels none of which looked especially inviting. However the Briarcliff Motel was very good. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the reception staff both in the evening upon arrival and in the mo

The Motel is well located and the service especially the breakfast was very good I can say in our 2 weeks trip through Maine,Massachusetts & New Hampshire we had no plastic cutlery, plates, mugs and cups and a healthy selection we enjoyed it very much. The ladies at the reception

Thank you for your review! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and were warmly welcomed by the staff. We take pride in our locally sourced continental breakfast and are happy to hear you appreciated it. We also do our best to maintain green policies by avoiding the use of single use plastic products in the rooms and at breakfast. Hope to see you on your next Holiday.

This unassuming motel on Route 7, between Stockbridge and Great Barrington may look dated, but the rooms are spacious, clean and contemporary. Out front there is a fire bowl to enjoy a yarn or two with fellow travellers and out back is ample space for kids to run around, or just

Thank you for your wonderful review! Briarcliff is tucked away at the base of Monument Mountain, and can be easy to miss, but we’re thrilled that you found our little hidden gem in the Berkshires. As the autumn nights begin to roll in, feel free to cozy up by our outdoor fire pit or the fire in the lobby as you socialize with friends and family. Mornings are equally as special when you grab a bite to eat from our hearty continental breakfast, which is included in your room rate. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Responding to your response to my review. Our granddaughter did not stay with us. My husband had picked her up from Berkshire School in the morning so I could sleep in. They came back to pick me up to check out and go to breakfast. When I booked the reservation I asked about changing it if needed and was told that would not be a problem.
Is there a lake nearby for swimming?
Sorry, I only just saw this: there are a lot of great lake-swimming spots nearly. We like Benedict Pond, which is open to all and has a small sandy beach and picnic facilities (you can even buy a small bundle of firewood and make a little campfire) - about ten minutes from the motel. Lake Mansfield, which is in Great Barrington itself, is where the local kids learn to swim, and is a great family destination.

We have a boxer that we would like to take with us. Please share a little about the pet friendly rooms. Are they clean? Can we see photos?
Hi there: well, it would be strange for me to say that they're not clean I guess! We only allow dogs in two specific rooms, and we charge $20 extra per dog which goes towards extra cleaning. We have a high reputation for cleanliness on TA, and this includes our dog rooms. You can actually see pictures of the rooms on the website - the room with two beds has the 'Work Hard and Be Nice to People' poster, and the king bed room is the one with the brown circles duvet cover. You would need to call us to enquire about availability, because our online system cannot differentiate whether those two specific rooms are booked, we can only do that over the phone. Hope this answers your question. best, Clare Proctor (owner).

"we went in peak season (labor day) so only room was two double beds"
"All the rooms are accessible. We liked the end room because there is no shared wall on one side."
"All rooms look out on the undeveloped small forested mountain across the street."
