Pluses: nice large clean room, comfortably if generically furnished. Continental breakfast was carb-laden but adequate. Deli and grocery store next door were handy, as was fridge in the room. BUT...not really worth the unconscionable price gouging over the 4th of July weekend, so far from the center of town.

Thank you for your kind words about our hotel. I do sympathize as the distance to Edgarotonw. We are less then a half mile from the center of Edgartown. We are on the bus line which can take our guest to any town of Martha's Vineyard. The demand for hotel space over the summer and holiday does cause higher rates...

Hotel has a policy of requiring guest drivers license number and home address be entered into the registration computer. I refused, and was refused a room. This clearly subjects ALL GUESTS to an additional layer of potential identity theft, and a clear violation of privacy. I was paying by MasterCard. MasterCard publishes rules that merchants are contractually obligated to follow....

You may not be aware but all hotels ask to see your ID and a valid credit card. Your Id was not copied but noted as matching the credit card. Guest who act suspicious about credit card and refusing to show ID are looked at with great caution. You may want to contact your credit card company for clarification of...

We stayed only one night at this hotell situated a bit away from the center lokated closer by the sea. The personel was friendly and the room clean. A bit expensive in comparison to the overall standard as most things on this island though. Breakfast was inkluded however with almost only prefab ingredients in plastik bags such as sereal and...

We went just prior to the busy season starting in mid-June. The room rate was a great value when compared to other accommodations (at least ones with posted rates on TripAdvisor and Kayak). I'm lazy and rely on using those central booking sites to find a room. I don't have time to search through individual property websites or make multiple...

I was content to just keep my terrible experience to myself. Then, I opened my credit card statement to find that I was charged for something that I didn't use. To start, the staff at the front desk, when checking in, was rude and completely unhelpful. We had reserved two rooms at the same time, but were put at opposite...

Was surprised how active Martha Vineyard is off season. Glad to find Clarion is open year round. Hotel is very well kept, very clean rooms. I had a King size bed, 5 pillows(2 of which were feather pillows we switched out at the front desk) Stop and Shop next door, with the microwave and mini fridge in the room saved...

The Clarion is a very decent hotel with good pricing. My room was spacious with mini frig, microwave, and big flat screen TV with cable. I had an incredibly comfortable king bed with five pillows that were not those huge pillows that have no give and break my neck. The hotel and its location were very quiet. The bathroom was...

Older hotel but staff was extremely helpful. Close to everything we wanted to get to by foot. Room was clean and had refrigerator and stove free parking. You can't check in until 3 and check out is 11:30 prompt. They do have free continental breakfast and a grocery store right next to the hotel.

We were surprised at the size and the comfort of our room. In addition, it was clean and conveniently located to Edgartown! Staff was friendly but were not very well trained on the desk. We would have given it five stars if not for the crappy breakfast. The coffee was terrible!

We apologize that your experience on Martha's Vineyard was not what you are use too. Martha's Vineyard is a destination resort community that can be very pricey for people who are not use to going to resort destination. Clarion Inn is priced very reasonably for Martha's Vineyard.
