Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We recently stayed here for the annual Christmas in Edgartown celebration. The inn was centrally located so it was easy to walk to all the events. The inn was clean and comfortable. The extra bonus of a fridge, stove and microwave were added bonuses for cooking in the room if desired. The people who run the inn were kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.

When booking for a few night stay at Martha's Vineyard, we were surprised at how expensive the hotels were off season (Middle of Oct), and we found the Lightkeepers Inn. I was a bit skeptical as the rates seemed too good to be true but the online reviews made us take a chance and book. I am very glad we did. We were here with family so they were in the main building and we were out in the Light Keepers Cottage. They did contactless check in, the place was very clean and in a great location. Staff we saw were very friendly. When we go back we will for sure stay here again.

We stayed at The Lightkeeper's Inn for three nights in August and loved it! From our arrival to the moment we left, the staff was welcoming, kind and very helpful; going above and beyond in every way. We sincerely appreciated their thoughtfulness, the charming decor, cleanliness, comfortable bed and the close proximity to town. We walked everywhere; to the lighthouse, shops and to the restaurants, which are among the best on the island. We stay on the island approx. five times a year and we hope to return to The Lightkeeper's Inn. Many thanks to Heidi, Pat and Ann for a wonderful stay!

My wife and I enjoyed a comfortable two night stay at The Lightkeeper’s Inn in Edgartown. We chose The Gay Head Suite (room #1) which gave us two rooms with everything we needed: comfortable bed, bathroom with plentiful hot water, stove, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, cable television, etc. The Inn is on a quiet street within easy walking distance to “downtown” Edgartown in one direction and the Edgartown Lighthouse in the other. Quality restaurants are nearby even in the off-season. Yes, we could hear the footsteps of the family or couple in the room above us, but that was not an issue. A “required” trip to Backdoor Donuts provided a hearty, but not healthy, breakfast. When we return to Edgartown we will return to The Lightkeeper’s Inn, a well managed, comfortable place to stay!

We stayed for 4 nights in April 2022 in the Gay Head Light Suite #1 with an outside entrance. Very very clean. Kitchenette and table to eat at met our needs. We appreciated the basket of tea bags and creamer in the frig. We were able to take walks at night in the town and near the beach. Internet and cell service were excellent and held up for work especially after a very bad storm.

We stayed here for the second time and loved it more than ever. Upon arrival, fresh flowers and hand made chocolates awaited us along with a welcoming note. The cottage is a cozy, immaculate and well appointed bungalow. From its separate bedroom with king size bed to its private deck and yard with loungers, it is a total treat at an affordable price. We especially love the large (9’ x 5’) original oil painting in the living room depicting a mermaids party on Edgartown Harbor. The kitchen is fully equipped for meal prep and the town itself is a 2 minute walk for those preferring to dine out. We can’t wait to come back. Kudos to innkeeper Heidi and her staff.

We stayed here at the end of August and were thrilled to have found the Lightkeepers Inn. It is a wonderful inn with 9 suites and private entrances. Parking is on-site - a rarely for Martha’s Vineyard. The inn is a block and a half from Main Street and shopping, restaurants and a beach. The Chappy Ferry is a half a block. The bedroom was good size with a great queen bed. The bathroom was also a decent size and the living room had a great sofa bed with an extra blow-up mattress which made it really comfortable. The entire suite was immaculate and the maids asked every morning if there was anything we needed. The kitchen had a stove and a full size refrigerator and there were lots of dishes, utensils and other kitchen necessities. We stayed 3 nights and it was totally accessible to everything. We paid extra for a porch with an umbrella, table and chairs but we totally enjoyed wine and cheese there each night. Can’t say enough about this small but fabulous inn!
