**Please note directions to the hotel when on Rte. 1 North (follow carefully as the hotel is behind TGIFriday's): After the COSTCO Warehouse entrance, TURN RIGHT BEFORE TGI Friday's. Bypass TGIFriday's driveway and at the STOP sign TURN LEFT and follow road into the hotel driveway. The hotel is located behind TGIFriday's. If you see the turn for Rte. 114, this means you have just missed the driveway. At that point, take Rte. 114 West, turn around and get onto Rte. 1 South and take the Lowell Street exit (about 2 miles down on right). Turn right off Lowell Street exit and go back up onto Rte. 1 North and follow the above directions.

Staff were amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Great location to see Boston, Salem, and Gloucester. The only negative is the room was very old and needed to be remodeled. It was clean but old. Breakfast was your typical breakfast. Would recommend for a family that needs space to spread out.

Thank you so much for staying with us at the Residence Inn by Marriott, Danvers. We appreciate your feedback and have shared your comments with the team. I apologize that you found our hotel "old." Our hotel was renovated in 2018 with all new colors, furniture, carpeting and mattresses. We also just returned the Marriott Breakfast buffet, as Covid had removed that for about a year and a half. Thank you again for your feedback and traveling during these unusual times. Sincerely, Grace General Manager

Have stayed here many times a year in the past (Marriott members for over 27 yrs) Have always found facility and staff to be excellent. This time was a disaster from the time we arrived. We were booked for 4 nights. When I looked around after checking in I found dirt on the floor..crumbs on the counter and stains and dirt on the sleep sofa mattress. Upon closer examination I noticed numerous blood stains as well. Since it was 10 pm , I covered the mattress with everything I could find and slept on it. Outside our room 3 or 4 people hung around yelling and swearing as they consumed their beverages. This lasted til after 1am. Deciding to check out I was amazed at the lack of concern from the gentleman at the desk.he did not ask why or anything else. I thought it best to tell him anyway....he replied by telling me there would be no charge for the night. Early the next morning my credit card co. Called me to ask about Residence Inn trying to put thru over $200.00 on my card...luckily they rejected it and blocked them from trying again. I went back to the hotel and met with the woman who checked me in (who is always wonderful)..she noticed we had left early and questioned me about it wanting all the details...I feel confident that the correct people will be told and steps taken.. I understand help is hard to find during these times...but bloody mattresses should be addressed

I don't usually book Marriott hotels, but this one offered a good off season rate for a quick getaway to Salem. The hotel is about 7 miles from Salem, but it ends up being about a 20 minute drive with traffic. Check in was easy and the staff was very helpful. There is a small convenience store that is open 24/7. Because of COVID breakfast is a bag and go set up which included muffins, fruit, yogurt and juice. The room was exactly as pictured, but when we got in it is smaller than what it appears in the picture. But it is still roomie. I really wanted to use the fire place but it was too warm and you have buy a special fake wood log to use ($7) which prevents too much mess for the housekeepers. The kitchen was great. We had a full size fridge, stove, dishwasher, sink and microwave. Dishes, pots, pans, flatware, etc were provided. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure. It was clean. I have only a few complaints - the towels are laughably small and not really bath towels. The second is that the room with the toilet and shower is very tight. It wasn't a problem for us, but I could see how the twisting of getting the toilet paper and the location of the door to the toilet might be uncomfortable for some. A third complaint is the thin walls/ceiling. We were on the ground floor and the person above us was walking around and we could hear it, like it was in our space. And the person was still walking around at 2 am! And lastly, we were in a back unit and we could hear the traffic from the highway. MA has a curfew at the moment so after 10 pm the traffic died down so it didn't keep us awake. All and all, it was a good stay. The staff were very nice so that made it a better stay.

Thank you so much for staying with us at the Residence Inn Danvers. We appreciate your feedback and have shared your comments with the team. I apologize that you did not fully enjoy your stay. I understand how disruptive the road noise can be and as a wooden structure there are areas that the noise is more noticeable than others. Also, I apologize that you found our bathrooms small and the towels small. We will be receiving a new shipment of towels soon. We hope that when your travels bring you back to Danvers you will give us another opportunity. Thank you again for staying with us.

Very friendly and competent front desk staff. Breakfast was included- but keep in mind that the buffet is lost to the "new normal". Coffee only available in the room. The room was clean and well-equipped with refrig, microwave, etc.
