Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This hotel was Clean and I felt Safe. I was visiting DC for My Birthday from Pittsburgh and it was a Decent stay! They have a Laundry room with 2 washers & dryers I forgot how much but it wasn't alot I washed My clothes just fine. There's also snack/soda machines in the Laundry room. My room was on the ground floor. Bathroom was clean. Checkers & Dunkin were a few steps away with a Gas Station and I was conveniently located near Shopping Food and RFK Stadium for the Broccoli City festival. Staff was so nice and helpful! You have to go to the front desk for extra towels if needed and they dnt clean your room until you checkout which I didn't mind because that cuts the chance of anything being stolen. Overall great stay and I would stay here again

We love staying at theme hotels and saw this one had a heart shaped tub, so we wanted to go for it. I was not expecting luxury but nothing could have prepared me for the room me walked into. As soon as we entered the room I wanted to leave immediately because I felt physically ill that we were being charged $250 dollars. The carpet was worn down and stained with god knows what in many places and smelled so bad of cigarette smoke that the clothes we did not even take out of our bags reeked and we had to wash them. The bed was broken and leaning, there was mold and cigarette burns on the upholstered headboard and stains we could not identify. The back of the bed was held together by duct and painter’s tape and there was a large gaping hole in the middle of the bed’s headboard. There were multiple young men standing in the front door to the hotel and we felt unsafe using the main doors, so we found a back door that was held open with a small dirty towel that we used. The heater/AC had coffee (or old blood) stains all over the front of it. The worst part is, we booked the room specifically for a heart shaped tub as advertised and when we showed up, we received a jacuzzi room that was not heart shaped. The staff was rude and unhelpful so we just decided to straight up not spend the night.

It's a dump. Non smoking rooms but they STINK. Cigarette smoke comes into the room at night from the corridor. The management is rude and clueless There is nothing nearby. The "soul food" place next door is dire. No coffee in the room or even the reception. No ironing boards (just an iron to borrow at reception). Very lImited analog TV reception. Pluses? Next door to the Metro. And the wifi is surprisingly good.

This place does not rate one star except for the fact it is next to the metro with a short walk. There is an excellent seafood place next door, but watch out for beggars and mentally ill folks. Otherwise, don't go here. Non-smoking rooms is laughable. Toilet seat covered in burns from cigarettes. Room stank of cigarettes in a non-smoking room. There is no breakfast like the website says there is. There is not even shampoo. Noisy neighbors, and all night traffic noises in a dangerous neighborhood. Beggars everywhere. There was a screaming fight in our hallway. Staff was polite. Cost was too high for getting nothing in amenities except for a large TV with only 10 channels available, one with porn. Pillow case, floor, and ottoman stained.

At 1:00AM , there was allot of noise from outside the room from other guest. I understand that it is not the Hotels fault that other guest are making noise however there should be some sort of security to make them go inside.

Staff was very helpful and check in was a breeze.. I wanted a non smoking room and got a smoking room. He helped by spraying the room but this didn't work. Even now all my clothes smell of smoke. Not to self....never stay in a smoking room ever again. Room was ok, clean and comfortable. I loved the microwave and refrigerator in the room, I made good use of that for sure. All in all a good stay and I would stay there again if needs be.

Good location. right next to the train station. The room was clean. the bed very comfortable. The only downside was that the hotel stank from cigars and it didn't improve much after we asked for a non-smoking room.

This place totally sucks! The room was too dark. We complained about no lighting and the manager did nothing. There were lamps on each side of the bed and neither one worked. The room lamp must had 25 watt bulb in it. The cushion chairs were stained so bad as if someone in the nude sat in after s*x. The room smelt of old cigarette smoke. The pillows and sheets had a dull finish to them as if they were just fluffed up. The bathroom sink didn't have water drain catch; you just had to let the water run as if you were in the shower. This bathroom lighting was of a 40 watt bulb. The shower curtains were so dark which made it extra dark during your shower. At a $105.00 per night; this was just an emergency which I needed to be closer to home for one night, but never again and I wouldn't advise anyone to go there. This Inn is really a "dive" to go for a "quickie" as in Tourist Home.

Room Tip: The whole area is dark and scary. Just what is with the lighting situation?

I made the checkin at 4:30p. The hotel stank! Smells cigarettes inside the room! I made the checkout at 5:10p in the same day. Totally impossible sleep there. Neighborhood scares! I lost money but is ok! Because they do not refund. The price does not worse at all. We walked more to 2 miles and stay in Holliday Inn almost for the same price for a couple.

I saw two reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor that mentioned that the hotel was "great for the price." So I figured, why not? First off, I was scared just driving through the area. The area was run-down, and I was definitely afraid to get out of the car. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we noticed the hotel manager was standing behind bullet-proof glass. Not a good sign. There were also signs on the glass about wanted carjackers in the area (however, at least there was a cash reward available... note the sarcasm). We quickly went back to our car, grabbed EVERYTHING in it, and ran to our room. We walked to our room (we had to scan our key just to enter the hallway of the hotel). As soon as we entered, we noticed stragglers in the hallway looking VERY shady. We also noticed the very strong urine odor that followed us to our room. The room itself was fairly acceptable. However, it was hard to ignore the stale air and the distinct smell of urine. I barely wanted to touch anything because I wasn't sure how clean things REALLY were. Soon after dropping off our stuff, we decided to get some dinner. We went out for a drive in the area, and right away decided to drive far, far, away. Nothing in the area looked safe - and we didn't want to leave our car parked anywhere. We ended up staying at this hotel one night ... We had originally booked the room for two nights, but couldn't bear the thought of staying another night. Another note: although this hotel WAS very cheap, there were several other hotels we found on Expedia.com that were around the same price. We happened to pass these hotels on our drive, and noted (a) how much better they looked and (b) how much better the areas were. So, don't stay here because you think it's a great bargain - there are better bargains out there!
