Had a great weekend staying at the Black Duck, which is wonderfully sited across from the harbor, yet quiet. I stayed in Brice room, with its own screened porch, and ate my breakfast sitting outside watching the world not go by! Kate is really great -- helpful and friendly but understands guest need for quiet as well! A great retreat...

The minute you walk onto the porch of the Black Duck Inn, you just feel like saying, "Aaaaah." It exudes calm, comfort, and charm. The owner, Kate, seems like an old friend. Our boat had too deep of a keel to use her dock, so we had to dock at the marina, but Kate picked us up in her car...

Had a wonderful time with six of my sisters at the lovely Black Duck Inn. Kate was so very accommodating with us taking over the entire inn. Our two day stay was filled with long bike rides and walks through the charming town of Rock Hall, a short ride to the outstanding Farmer's Market in Chestertown, shopping, shopping and more...

We stayed at the Black Duck Inn in June - had a wonderful time and the Dockside Cafe was excellent. So friendly and relaxing. We brought our kayaks and had a great time exploring the many tributaries in the area. We will definitely return before the season ends.

My new wife and I had the privilege of having Kate at the Black Duck design and organize our wedding. We could not have been more pleased. Everything from the décor to the hors d'oeuvres, through the ceremony, dinner (crab feast) and music was impeccable. Located on the water the setting was both beautiful and intimate. She developed a nautical...

This harborside cafe is a terrific find ! Located across the street from the Black Duck Inn (same ownership), this seasonal delight specializes in fresh, eclectic fare. Everything is made by the 3 women who run the place ... including the crusts for their incredible pizzas. You haven't lived until you've had their fruit pizzas ... beautiful to behold and...

We were in Rock Hall for a wedding and stayed in the Carter room at the Black Duck Inn. The room was very nice and Kate made us feel very welcome. Great views and a good (included) breakfast at the cafe. We would stay here again.

We ordered food but they did not take credit cards, the staff drove us up to the bank at rock hall. Kate made our order but also started bring out more "sampler" foods. everything was tastey.
