1) Some guests are very loud. I woke up at 830am to my neighbor blaring rap music and slamming doors. However, my first night was super quiet and amazing. 2) Front desk staff did not know how much the laundry costs. Things like this should be an easy fix - have a binder or paper with all the relevant information needed. 3) Little to no information given about amenities available during check in or in the room (Lobby Bar, Breakfast, Laundry, etc). This is especially critical during COVID when many amenities are down or altered. 4) Apparently breakfast is only on weekends. 5) Lobby market was well stocked. 6) Staff was very friendly. 7) Room was very clean. 8) Hotel did not fulfil extra requests noted in reservation (pillows, towels, etc) 9) Room coffee included 1 decaf and 1 regular. God forbid a couple is staying and both like the same coffee. 10) Doors shut *very* loudly. 11) It was a struggle to even get a 1:30pm check out despite Titanium Elite status. 12) Bed (king) was super comfortable.

This was my third visit to this hotel, so the review covers all three visits over six months. Surprisingly, there was little difference across all visits. It’s a newer Marriott Courtyard, which opened in Dec 2018; and likely my first visit to a Courtyard in a decade. It’s a standard Courtyard so not that exciting. In my formative years (circa the late 1980’s/early 1990’s), I thought Courtyards were great because they were, to my knowledge, the first hotel chain to place electrical outlets at desktop height. Now and depending on their age, they can be efficient if on the boring side. (Older, outdated Courtyards are nightmarish.) Check-in: Here, it’s hit or miss. In my very first visit (July 2020), the American lady of African descent was quite wonderful. When I made the reservation, I couldn’t understand why the 1-bedroom suite had such an outrageous rate. She adjusted the rate (thank you!). She was personable, friendly, informative – all the things you would want in a Front Desk person. Though, I think she was the manager or assistant manager; and I’m sorry I don’t recall her name. She was exemplary. Unfortunately, I never interacted with her, again. Not during the remainder of that first visit or my next two visits to the hotel. All other Front Desk personnel seemed to really dislike their jobs. Non-smiling, not helpful, and sometimes a bit clueless. On the second visit (Nov 2020), a female Front Desk person was rude to another guest. I was surprised by her condescension and her sarcasm to the guest. It was interesting (and sad) to watch. Check-in on my third visit (Jan 2021) was efficient, unremarkable, and not particularly memorable. Upon check-out during my third visit, the Front Desk person was great. She smiled when I came around the corner from the elevator, said “Good morning” and asked was I checking out? That was a first at this hotel (other than my initial visit) that someone started with "Hello" or "Good mornig." She was pleasant, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. Finally, she was concerned about me leaving through the back door of the hotel so soon after an ice snow. She wasn’t sure if the walkway had been cleared and she thought I should go out the front door. Wow. Someone was thoughtful at this hotel. I declined but thanked her for the information. Room: On the first visit, I had the 1-bedroom suite and talk about a boring room! The living space was huge but had no furniture. I called the Front Desk to ask if the room was missing furniture and she apologized and said no. There was no missing furniture. The furniture was in great shape; boring square and round pieces designed to be “edgy” and “hip,” but left me cold and indifferent. The couch wasn’t comfortable. The good-sized desk had almost enough outlets at desktop height. In the age of electrical gadgets, I think you need at least 3 outlets at the desk, but that’s a personal preference. The suite had a cooler/refrigerator with ample space; and option to make coffee or hot water for tea. There was no microwave. The king-sized bed was comfortable and the bathroom, while on the small side, was fine. Everything worked. On visits 2 and 3, I had a double queen room. (In July and Nov 2020; and in Jan 2021, the posted room rate for the 1-bedroom suite was $499/night - obscene and not acceptable during the pandemic and for the location of this hotel. At that rate, I’d stay in DC at a much better hotel.) The double queen room was fine. Same boring furniture with the same amenities, and surprisingly, plenty of space. Believe it or not, it was way more comfortable than the 1-bedroom suite. No issues with cleanliness: the rooms were all clean upon arrival and serviced very well by housekeeping during the visits. Service: On my initial visit, I tried breakfast, and this was in the middle of the pandemic. You could order (and take-away) hot food (yea), but service was awful. The young lady taking orders was overwhelmed by the number of people waiting and she didn’t have any back-up. My order was incorrect but given the time it had taken to get it, asking them to do it, again, was pointless. (The food wasn’t that great, either.) After this disaster, I didn’t order food on any subsequent visits to the hotel. I had all meals off property. Lastly, I don’t know why getting extra towels is an issue. On the first and second visit, I requested additional towels and they never seemed to be available. That seemed weird to me since the hotel wasn’t full in the middle of the pandemic. On the second visit, I suggested to the Front Desk person working at that time that he should retrieve some towels from an unoccupied room. He called on his walkie-talkie and a female delivered some towels to my room about 20 mins. later. Same scenario on the third visit, i.e., I requested extra towels upon check-in that took forever to arrive. On the first night of each subsequent visit, I left a note to the housekeeper and she provided the extra towels (thank you) on subsequent days. Since a relative lives in the area and it’s a newer hotel, I’ll likely return. You must work past the (mostly) non-helpful Front Desk individuals and push for anything else. Otherwise, it serves its purpose: a bland, clean hotel to shower and sleep; nothing more, nothing less.

Passing through area and stayed one night. Staff was friendly. Hotel appears to be new. Our room was very clean and very comfortable. Our room had a king size bed with a sleeper sofa. Our daughter slept on sleeper sofa and said it was “ok”. We would not hesitate to stay again.

I stayed here one night while my a.c was being fixed. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Due to COVID, the restaurant was closed. The hotel enforced mask-wearing at all times. I would definitely stay here again.

My wife spent the evening in Bowie/Annapolis for the weekend. Everything about our stay was great. The hotel is clean and very nice (new or remodeled). The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was clean and big enough for my wife and my 5 yr. old. The bed was very comfortable and the staff allowed us to check out at 12:00.
