Most horrible experience I have ever had. They booked me room upstairs, over kitchen. Smoke from kitchen infiltrated room. Also no one helped carry luggage upstairs, nor would accommodate room change. Finally chose to leave cause could not stay in smoky room and they would not refund money and charge me for entire booking.

I am giving the Surry Inn five stars for the following reasons: 1. The wonderful Annelies, so welcoming and friendly, best host ever. 2. The French toast at breakfast (made from home baked bread). Anything else on the breakfast menu is also great. 3. The excellent dinners, good wine selection and great service. 4. The fantastic views of Contention Cove.... More

I can't say what it was like to stay at The Surry Inn because when I showed up at 8pm to check in for my 2-night stay, my reserved room had been given to someone else. She said, "Oh, I must have been doing something else when I was making the reservation and then someone called and I gave it... More

My husband and I have come to the Surry Inn for several years--we like to go in early fall when the crowds have diminished. The owners are wonderful people whom we now consider friends. This place is rustic, charming, and has one of the finest views imaginable along the Maine coast. The proximity to Acadia can't be beat. This B&B... More

I'd heard about the Surry Inn for years and was so happy to stay there twice recently, traveling up and back down the Maine coast with a friend. Hand painted walls and trim everywhere, lending a French touch. Dining room is fabulous: pink, with a wall of lace-curtained windows opening onto a long grassy slope to the beach beyond. Our... I've been enjoying the Surry Inn with family and friends for many years now. We love it for the friendly staff, quiet location, and sunset dinners. The elegant dinning room features a floor to ceiling stone fireplace on one side and a view of the cove on the other. With light classical music playing, it is very inviting. I recommend... More

Spectacular setting, and far enough off the over-worn tourist track to be peaceful, with a full complement of retail services available in nearby towns. Proprietors were friendly and went out of their way to be accommodating. Award-winning chef offers fine dining without pretention in their excellent restaurant. Want origami washcloths, chocolates on your pillow, and obsequious service personnel lurking in... More

There is really no reason for anyone to stay at this Inn. The innkeeper was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in being a good host, but the condition of the facility is absolutely shameful, from the grassed over parking area to the peeling paint, rotten wood, broken doors (with no security at all), cracked windows, missing siding, roof leaks, crude... My wife and I visited the Surry Inn for the second time in October for some R and R. If you want a true Maine experience, beautiful views and sunsets over a bay, proximity to Acadia at a reasonable price, and absolutely some of the best food in all of Maine, Surry Inn is the place for you. The Inn... More

My wife and I have stayed at the Surry Inn almost every year since 1999, most recently in October of 2012. We love it! It is an authentic rural Maine Inn that will remind you of its 1800s stagecoach inn origins. There's no color TV and no Wi-Fi. Instead there is a magnificent cove on the Maine coast, a quiet... “No rooms are good, bathrooms with no window or fan for ventilation, mildew smells, scalding dripping hot water that you cannot adjust, to ONE plug behind the bed so if you want to dry your hair you move the bed and then unplug a lamp.
