My husband and I spent the past weekend at the inn. The weather was blustery but hey, it's Maine and it's winter! We were warm and cozy. The area is really beautiful and the location of the inn couldn't be better. You are perched on the harbor and the decks are built on pilings, over the water's edge. The owners...

So we and 2 other couples stayed in 3 different rooms late October, again we were all happy with our rooms and breakfast. 2 on harbor side and one village. All rooms are different and their...

I love the Inn and came this year for Thanksgiving. The meal was amazing and the company even better. Jay and Dana recently took over ownership and they are wonderful. The Inn is just a beautiful place to be.

Our party reserved three rooms over a weekend. We were all very happy. Loved the big decks, huge view, bustling harbor activity and the informality of the place. Rooms were very clean, beds very comfy. Staff friendly and accommodating. We were greeted by loons in the morning and a bald eagle passed overhead one afternoon. Definitely a great spot to...

I feel like I'm in Popeyes film set a quaint wooden building at the edge of the harbor, 9 rooms on the water and 4 facing the Main Street with plenty of deck Space for a sun tan. We unfortunately didn't get one of the harbour view rooms as we drove in without booking, it's comfortable and the staff are...

It's wonderful to sit on the deck watching the fishing boats and schooners pass through the Deer Island Thoroughfare. Stonington is a wonderful town and the zone on the Harbor is one of our favorite places to stay.

The Inn is right on the water in a picturesque harbor. The rooms are not air conditioned. Should not be a problem most of the time but my stay it was mid 80's and my room on the second floor was hot and the sun shined in until about 8. Not much to do in this town but relax and...

What can I say, I love Stonington. This place is generally out of my budget but last minutes plan led me to this reservation. It is such a lovely spot, overlooking the harbor. We stayed in the Roseway which was a nice room with a comfortable bed. I didn't have any issue with noise levels. This room has an outside...

What a nice surprise! Not impressive from the street, it is wonderful. The Mary Day room opens to the deck, but we chose to sit at the window mostly. All the harbor activity in front of you. This is a working harbor, also windjammers tend to stop by. Nice breakfast on the deck. A highlight of our week in Maine.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
OPEN YEAR ROUND Known for its unique charm and spectacular view of the Penobscot Bay islands, the Inn on the Harbor on Deer Isle offers a perfect romantic waterfront retreat. Built in the 1880s and perched right on the edge of picturesque Stonington Harbor, this bed and breakfast captures the very essence of Maine's Downeast island life. Ten of the thirteen individually decorated guestrooms face the sea and enjoy gorgeous views of Isle au Haut, the Windjammers and the island's fishing fleet. Guests can relax on the spacious flower-covered deck extending out into the harbor and enjoy the tide rising and falling beneath the Inn. They can fall asleep to the sound of nearby Mark Island Light's foghorn and wake up to the lobstermen heading out to sea. Several of our rooms have wood burning fireplaces and/or private decks. Our accommodations are relaxed and comfortable, all with private baths and sitting areas. The coastal atmosphere, with fresh salt air and brilliant sunny skies, encourages many of our guests to simply put their feet up and relax while watching Stonington's bustling waterfront. This is Maine's Downeast island life at its best. ... more   less
