Craignair Inn and Restaurant is walking distance from beautiful Clark Island via the causeway. We're at the end of a peninsula with relaxing rooms, unmatched food and gorgeous views. Craignair is just minutes to Rockland, 40 minutes to Camden and about an hour to Portland. Come enjoy the peace and serenity of Craignair Inn at Clark Island!
We stayed here our first two nights in Maine when out original plans to stay in a Lighthouse fell through because they did not allow dogs. This place turned out to be a much better option. Lovely building and the addition that we stayed in, recently build, was very nice. The room was a good size, the bath was nice and it was all very clean. We had a balcony with some chairs, a screen door, and you could walk over the causeway to the island next door and hike in a beautiful, untouched area. The breakfasts were good though I think because they were about to close for the season, they were a little short on staff. You didn't get to chose what you wanted, they would bring out a small dish of yogart and then a larger plate with quite a bit of food on it and it was tasty and filling. There was self-serve coffee and various juices. The dining room is very nice with a great view of the ocean. The restaurant for dinner was here also and it was very good. See my separate review on it. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating (Michael more than Joanne but I think she was a little stressed) and made certain that we had everything we needed. Hope would definitely stay here again.
We were referred here by the Schooner company we took a trip on and we were not disappointed. Only stayed one night but Joanne was very welcoming as well as MiMi. Michael cooked a great breakfast the next morning. We were too early for the Restaurant to be opened for the season but I think it would be a great return trip idea. Great area to walk in and also across to the island. Our room was comfy. Didn't have cell phone coverage but if we needed it we could have used their phone. Great view on the bay and weather was a little cloudy but nice. Prices were reasonable.
Stayed here one night as part of a week long bike trip. Stayed in outer building - no issues at all. Ate dinner and it was fantastic. Breakfast next morning was equally tasty. Innkeepers were helpful and friendly. Would stay here again!
First time here and so glad we made the trip! We a fabulous gourmet dinner od fresh caught halibut and seasonal vegetables while sitting in a colonial living room looking out the windows down the lawn to the sea. A real Maine experience for the senses: sight, sound, and taste !
