My husband and I recently rented the Carriage House (part of the Inn) for our honeymoon and it was great! The spacious House has a very nice kitchen and living area--which also includes a fireplace! We truly enjoyed the serenity and privacy the Carriage House offered us. Each morning we woke up for Don's amazing breakfast! The food was fresh,...

We arrived late on Friday and were greeted by an employee, which was fine. The next morning, during breakfast we were served by who we assume was Don. No welcome, no hellos, no thanks for choosing us. Rainy weekend, not the B & B's problem, but they were no help in trying to gear us towards rainy day options except...

I must take a moment and apologize to this guest for my lack of attention that morning but I remember the day very well. Unfortunately there was an emergency with one of our guests staying in one of our cottages that that took most of my time and attention. An ambulance had to be called and the guest transported to...

There is a great commons area for those rainy days. Some rooms are a bit small, but typical for houses of that era. Good breakfast, with a relaxing front porch.

The harbor cottage inn was a lovely bed & breakfast overall. The breakfast was delicious and in a lovely setting. The service was sensational. We were just under the impression it was a little closer to bar harbor, which is where we wanted to spend most of our short trip! Oh well, it was still lovely!

We stayed at the Inn in early September and thought it was just OK and here is why. 1. We did not like the location - but that was because everything we wanted to do started In Bar Harbor which is easily a 15 minute drive with no traffic. We wanted to rent bikes and be shuttled into Acadia -...

This review makes several interesting points that we are pleased to address. 1. When a guest makes a reservation with us we are careful to point out that we are not in Bar Harbor but in Southwest Harbor which is 11 miles away on the SW part of Mt Desert Island. The majority of guests choose to stay with us...

My boyfriend and I stayed at this B&B over this past Labor Day weekend. We loved being away from all the tourists in Bar Harbor. The location was great, close to restaurants and to drive to all the sights in Acadia. The breakfast every morning was delicious and the service was excellent. Cristina checked us in late on Friday night...

Southwest harbour is a lovely little town, and staying at this B & B just made my whole experience even better. It's a beautiful house, with great antiques everywhere. I stayed in the Captain's nook for two nights over labor Day weekend, and couldn't have had a better time!.

Our family of two parents and three teenagers experienced a memorable week at the Harbour Cottage Inn. The Southwester cottage served as a wonderful base for exploring Mount Desert Island. Driving the Acadia loop, hiking Jordan Pond (and eating popovers at the Pond House), shopping Bar Harbor, biking the Carriage Roads, sailing Sommes Sound aboard the Friendship Sloop, hiking the...

So, we picked the hottest week in years to visit Maine hoping to get away from the Texas Summer. Oops. We understand there are no air conditioners in Maine and the room was very warm but the owners brought in a fan and did what they could The nights were cool and comfortable. I loved the "at home" feel from...

We arrived at the Harbour Cottage Inn after two days of camping at Acadia. We found the Southwest Harbor area very relaxing and the Harbour Cottage Inn to be in a quiet but centrally located spot on this part of Mt. Desert. We only spent one night but the Inn was well maintained and the owners provided everything we could...
