Southwest Harbour was a nice quiet alternative to Bar Harbour and the Inn was down a very quiet side street. Great for sleeping as there was no traffic whizzing by or late night revelers. The Downeaster was suitable for a couple although I would suggest the Inn put a small notation on this room's website listing noting that the ceiling... More

We visited and stayed at Harbour Cottage Inn for three days with our kids of 11 and 14. It was a more than pleasant experience. Of course the weather was great, that helps, but the service, the location and the rooms were the best we ever had in a B&B. And let's not forget breakfast! Being quite selective on that... More

Two friends and I stayed four nights at this charming B&B. The accommodations are clean and pleasant, and the breakfasts are noteworthy. Our charming host helped us in planning a trip to Acadia National Park and provided useful information throughout our stay.

This was one of my first inn experiences, not my usual choice when I travel. This was perfect for me, very clean and relaxing environment and very unobtrusive style inn. Stayed in the Carriage House for 3 nights and loved it. There is no ocean view, but there are actually no real views that are worth paying for in Southwest... More

We spent 3 perfect days at The Harbour Cottage Inn. Our day began with gourmet breakfasts, then our hosts helped direct us to the best options of hiking and eating for our day. We came home to rest and relaxation on the covered porch and beds. Wine glasses were made available, as well as a sweet treat. Don, Doug, and... More

As a family with two boys 10 and 12, we enjoyed the warmth and peacefulness at the Harbour Cottage Inn. Breakfast was a gourmet feast perfect before hiking in Acadia National Park and the common room was a great place to play chess and read. Doug and Don have created an aura of calm that permeates the Harbour Cottage Inn.... More

We spent a lovely four night stay at Harbour Cottage Inn this week. The breakfasts are very good and everything else about the property is top-notch. We stayed in The Dory - a king bed corner room on the second floor. The second window allowed for a refreshing cross breeze, great for sleeping with nature's air conditioning blowing fresh off... I just returned from my stay at the Harbour Cottage Inn, where my fiancee and I stayed from July 7-11. It lived up to my high expectations and then some. It was simply charming. the proprieter, Don and his partner, have left no detail unturned. The room we clean and very nicely furnished (just as the website would indicate). The... More

Ever since I saw the funny Ben Stiller movie “Flirting with Disaster” in 1996, I’ve been convinced that, like Ben’s character, I am not “good B&B people.” It’s something about finding lace doilies on every flat surface; having to converse with other travelers at breakfast whether I want to or not; and having to put up with late check-ins, early... My husband and I spent four nights at Harbour Cottage Inn. From the moment we walked through the front door, we felt like we were at home. The Inn is in a residential area near a working harbor and a Coast Guard station. It was very quiet and peaceful. We even saw several deer in the front yard. Breakfast was... More
