If the view was the only criteria, this would be a 5 star...but add to that one of the best restaurants in the area, beautiful manicured croquet lawns, old world comfort and service and you have one of the most desireable vacation destinations available on...More
We spent the weekend at the Claremont Hotel. It is exquisitely one of the hotels with enormous character from staff to food, from rooms to Maine ocean location. We have been here before and have loved it. We come for the music; we come for...More
I agree with Courtney, the reviewer prior to mine. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom cottages on the property for $390/night from 8/1-8/5 and while we loved the picturesque location, we extremely disappointed in the condition of the cottage and service of the...More

Thank you for your feedback. On the day that you came to the desk with maintenance requests (namely, that the bathroom vent was not functioning, and that there was no shade on the upstairs twin bedroom and on the bathroom) maintenance promptly addressed...More

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that had view of the sound from the master bedroom, living room and deck. There was a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, full kitchen and large deck with table for 4. There are some units right on the water, but not sure if they have gas or wood fireplaces. Beal's lobster pier is short walk away and is excellent. Thurston's lobster pound is about 15-minute drive and is also excellent.
