Finding a decent hotel outside of a major city can be a hit and miss affair, often more miss than hit. Therefore for a long weekend break in Yorkshire, we turned to Trip Advisor for help. We wanted to be close to Wetherby to spend evenings with friends and in striking distance of York, Harrogate and the East Coast for... More

We took the self-catering Garden Cottage for half a week, as you can't take dogs in the in-house B&B rooms. A small converted outbuilding to a large 1900s Arts and Crafts-style main house in a lovely courtyard garden, with well-maintained gardens round the house. The owner, Anne, prepared it beautifully, not only providing some excellent home-made fig cake for us,... More

We spent just one night at Four Gables but will remember it well for the hospitality and thoughtfully furnished rooms. Our en suite bedroom was not huge but we were only in it to sleep and it was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. This property is a joy to explore and the gardens are beautiful. We have enjoyed many stays at Bramble Cottage, in the pretty village of Bramham, near Boston Spa. This 200 year old property is a perfect base for exploring the area and David and Anne are excellent hosts who always make us feel very welcome. Perfect location, very clean, very comfortable and always very friendly and welcoming. Add that to a fantastic breakfast and it just couldn't be better. We've been back 7 times now, and will definitely be back for more next year.

We (my partner and I) stayed here as we had a wedding to attend nearby. We normally stay in typical hotels so Four Gables was a nice change. Our room was comfortable and contained everything we needed including bottles water filtered from a nearby source (and plenty of it!). The most striking aspect of our stay was how hard the... More

We stayed at Four Gables in July 2014 and had a very comfortable room. We stayed in the King room, also known as the 'elephant' room as each room is named after an animal. We were very impressed by how clean it was, without being spartan and with plenty of character. The welcome from Anne was just right, enough but... More

A quaint typically English house in a quiet cul-de-sac. A good example of an Arts and Crafts house, but cluttered in places. The garden is beautiful and I wish I could have spent more time in it but we were only there for one night
