We had a wonderful stay, the inn was very charming and the staff was wonderful to us. Food was wonderful, never had stuffed French toast before and will try to recreate it. Room was clean and right on the water view which is what we wanted. We have a love of old homes and this was just wonderful.

This has been our third year in a row at Oceanside meadows inn. My husband and I stayed a week this year. We were able to relax and unwind with the cozy room and wonderful sitting room in front of the fireplace. The view from the windows to the ocean is very calming. We enjoy the beautiful breakfasts which are...

My husband & I stumbled upon this hidden jewel, Acadia Oceanside Meadows Inn, while traveling the coast of Maine. If you are a nature lover, a star gazer, or one who enjoys the adventures of an interesting trail then this is the place for you! Our visit was most enjoyable and a place to revisit! Thanks for your "southern hospitality...

This historic sea captains home is located on the Schoodic side of Acadia Park so guests naturally have to drive to the various sights, attractions and restaurants in the area. We found this made an ideal location to do a day trip visit to the FDR/Campobello Island and to eat dinner at "Helen's" Restaurant in Macchias. This was the best...

We found this inn by chance, everything was booked up and it just so happened that someone had cancelled!! Lucky for us! Wish we could have stayed longer. The accommodations were cozy and the inn has been well cared for. The Staff was friendly and helpful. We were given brochures of the area and this really helped us choose what...

Run down place, annoying and disorganized management, way overpriced. Had I known better, I would have spent the night in Bar Harbor, where you can get a much better room in a real B&B at a lower rate.

We had a lovely one night stay at the inn. Wish it could have been longer! Ben was very helpful and kind. The inn and grounds are wonderful! It's wonderful if you are looking for a historic place with character and the grounds are fantastic.

This Inn is touted as being within a couple of miles of Acadia National Park-which is true; but it is not near the area of the park that most tourists associate with Acadia. The Park loop with marked sites and turnoffs, Cadillac Mountain, and most of the hiking trails are near Bar Harbor, which is one peninsula away (ten miles...

After the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, Acadia Oceanside Meadows Inn was a breath of fresh air. We stayed in the 1820 farmhouse suite S1 with a balcony. The below pictures are a view from our balcony porch in the morning and two of the common areas. There is a kitchen and refrigerator that guests can use. Comfortable seating...

Only stayed for one night as we were passing through, however, a wonderful experience and great accomodations. The room was clean and comfortable. The proprietor was welcoming, informative and kind. Upon mentioning missing breakfast the next morning as we were anxious to hit the road and hike, he left us a care package of blueberry bread and scones. That night...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Greetings! I, Ben, and my wife, Sonja, would like to welcome you to Acadia's Oceanside Meadows Inn. We encourage you to discover the serenity and hospitality of Schoodic Peninsula, located in the heart of beautiful Downeast Maine. The buildings of our Inn stand on 200 acres at the head of Sand Cove in picturesque Prospect Harbor. At Oceanside Meadows we have two very specific goals: to ensure that you have an extraordinary experience staying at our historic inn and to introduce you to our ever-evolving 200 acre nature preserve. Explore our sandy beach, rocky shore, dunes, meadows, forest, ponds, streams, and pristine salt marsh environments, which offer a great diversity of habitats and wildlife. My wife and I, who have a background in science and conservation, are committed to the preservation of this extraordinary place. Oceanside Meadows marries all that you would expect from a historic inn that has been open since 1860 with an unparalleled opportunity to explore and to understand Maine's environment and natural splendor. We invite you to join us here for a relaxing respite on the ocean. Be lulled to sleep by the sound of the surf on our private sandy beach. Individually appointed bedrooms are lavishly furnished with your comfort in mind. Our rooms feature ocean and meadow views, private baths, flowers from the garden, and the refreshing sea breeze. Enjoy hearty gourmet breakfasts in our gracious dining room as you watch the lobster boats ply the Atlantic just yards away. Feast on wild blueberry pancakes, specialty omelets, homemade breads and other delights. We are glad to cater to vegetarian and other dietary needs. Our unique sandy beach is a great place to have a picnic, to lie in the sun or to take a dip in the brisk Atlantic. Explore the rugged coastline, tidal pools, and lighthouses; spot an eagle or osprey overhead; try sea kayaking, yachting, fresh water canoeing. Head out on a real Maine Lobster boat, see the seals basking in the sun, whales breaching, the puffins at Petit Manan Light, on your way back in to the dock pull lobster traps, truly immersing in the real wonders of the Downeast Maine coast. Try the trails of Acadia National Park at Schoodic 5 mins away or our own just behind the Inn. ... more   less
