Clean, comfortable room. Although there was no where for us to lay out our suitcases in our room. Lovely friendly service, the people really try to impress and are so helpful. Really good continental breakfast with gluten free options. Free Cookies and cold bottles of water available all day. Lots of eating places nearby. The Chinese restaurant Wing Lee had...

I spent two lovely nights at this quaint little inn. Service was splendid and I had really good rest! It's a little off the hubbub of Portland but the city is very walkable anyways - in fact, this is a good mile away from the Back Cove trail, the art district on Congress St, and perhaps slightly further to the...

kellynsq- Thank you for choosing our "cozy and charming" Inn. We have carved a niche that is unique and distinctive. Our European style sets us apart from other chain hotels in the city that guests have come to love. Thank you for the wonderful comments and hope to see you again in the future!

Wonderful pass through visit to Portland and this place was a great little gem. Dog friendly, helpful and pleasant staff and walking distance to downtown for a great price. This is a quaint and historic looking hotel. Having no elevator and staying on the third floor helped us burn some calories from all the beer tasting at the local breweries....

Stayed here for a quick weekend in Portland. Conveniently located with much to do with in walking distance. Priced right. They offer a Continental breakfast in the lobby. Some of the rooms share bathrooms, so you may want to check to make sure of your accomodations. There isn't an elevator so you have to be able to climb stairs. Well...

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Portland. It's a little out of the way, but there's free parking, and, really, Portland is pretty small. The rooms are comfortable (reserve ahead so you can get a room on the front, where the rooms are very large), clean, and the staff couldn't be more helpful. They've thought of everything.

I really enjoyed my two nights here. I had a room in the back with a private bathroom in the hall about two doors away. I received a warm greeting from the staff and a young man carried my bag up three flights of stairs. I had a beautiful room with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, flat screen TV., terry...

Our stay at the Inn at St John was, in a word, outstanding. It was only one night, but based on that experience, the Inn will definitely be our first choice for future overnight stays in Portland. The Inn has charm and character. It was nicely and uniquely decorated, quaint, cozy and well maintained. In my opinion, it beats the...

My wife, friends, and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! We loved the rooms, they were super clean, spacious, and luxurious. It was convenient to all of downtown Portland. The breakfast was great, and my favorite part is that we paid less than we would have for a more intimate B&B, but felt like we got double the classiness and...

Can I just say this place is amazing especially in this high demand overpriced town! I can attest to this since I have lived here for 30+ years.
