Ideally located on Milk Street in the heart of downtown Portland, The Regency is a great place to stay. It is just a stone's throw from the waterfront, and close to shops, museums, restaurants and attractions. The staff is professional and friendly, rooms are comfortable, and the rates, given the location and the position of this former armory, are quite...

Being from Portland, Maine, We have stayed at the Regency for more than 20 years and love that we can walk right out their door and onto the streets of Portland. Their restaurant, lounge, and spa are Top Shelf! And the staff are wonderfully accommodating . We love the outside patio in the summer months where smooth jazz and cocktails...

Needed a room for one night on Labor Day evening. Called and there was a room available with a king bed on the lower level. Price as $159, not bad for a $300 plus hotel. Now, when we get to the room, it is lower level with windows looking out to the street, but very comfortable and worth the price....

The hotel is right in the middle of where you want to be. It is (apparently) a converted armory We booked a fairly expensive room on the fourth floor- the only rooms that have balconies. The room was very large, a huge bathroom and nicely equipped. The large balcony has seating and my wife and I took full advantage of...

We have stayed in many hotels in Portland over the years and this is our favorite! The staff are extremely professional. They make you feel like they really care about your comfort and go out of their way to make sure your stay is a good one. The hotel is not a cookie cutter chain hotel with thin walls and...

Once Portland's armory, the building has been restored to a first class hotel and spa in the Old Port neighborhood, in walking distance to everything. The service and staff are warm and friendly. Reserve a room on the 4th floor along Market Street. From your deck, you'll have a partial view of the bay, a nice prospect over a cup...

Great location. The staff is very gracious. Our room was large and attractive. We choose a room with balcony--but the view is of a parking garage. Breakfast was excellent. However, the food at the hotel's outdoor restaurant was not good. Overall, a very good hotel.

This hotel has a fantastic location in the Old Port area of Portland. A number of top restaurants are within easy walking distance. We had a large king room at the back of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was generally quiet (we could just hear the rumbling of tires on the cobblestone street outside). We...

THis is not a review of the hotel, which most people regard as a nice place to stay. The outside seating is very well done and inviting, tables arranged around the roundabout in front of the hotel, the lighting is understated and the menu is large enough. I was drawn there while looking for a place to end an evening...
