What a pleasant experience! We had a second floor room on the front balcony - #14. The building had enough idiosyncrasies to be interesting, and was very comfortable, clean. The little bathroom was well planned with plenty of room and a great shower. There were chairs outside our room on the front balcony and it was nice to sit there,...

We have been staying at the Ocean House for 2 nights before traveling on to Monhegan for nearly 20 years. This is an older inn located on Main Street in Port Clyde. We have stayed in several rooms and have never been disappointed. Originally hosted by Bud, then Patsy and now Cristina, it's like coming home to family. The rooms...

Lovely little inn situated in the heart of Port Clyde. We stayed with two other families for a wedding. Joe and Patsy were fun and went out of their way to make everyone comfortable. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The efficiency was a great place for the grown-ups to hang out and seemed like a great value for...

My wife got a message while we were there and loved it. Parking is a bit cluttered as they must park cars for people on Monhegan Island. Joe is a bit anal about the parking situation but is a real nice guy. Pat was great. We only stayed 2 days and could have stayed longer,

Quite old, quaint with lovely hosts. The breakfasts were fresh and very good. Patsy went out of her way to accommodate our group. Our room was small and the stairs leading to the 3rd floor are steep. The only negative to this charming b & b is the stairs - would not be able to accommodate a handicapped individual very...

A very old hotel (1820's?) that was once a rooming house to mariners - and some of the Wyeths. Simple rooms - no A/C. The hotel transports you to another time. Joe and Patsy are gracious and accommodating hosts (they set up early breakfast to allow for the 7 am Monhegan ferry). The breakfast was basic, but varied (sometimes waffles...

This hotel is very old, built in the mid 1800's, and is the definition of quaint! Rooms are small, stairs steep with multiple staircases. There is no AC so our room on the third floor was hot. The room only had one electrical outlet so we had to switch often to charge our camera batteries with the room lamps. Staff...

Paintings from the Wyeth family adorn the walls. Breakfast is delicious. The rooms are spotless and my bed in room 11 was so very very comfy. Rocking in the Rocking chair looking at the misty ocean port. Couldn't have been more quaint or lovely!

The host and hostess are real nice. The hotel is very old, with steep stairs. Noise travels in the building, but luckily the median age of the guests is somewhere north of 60, so the place settles down at a reasonable hour. The breakfast was real good, and the coffee was very tasty. The many outdoor locations to sit adds...

I have to agree with the other reviews of Ocean House. There is a quaint charm to the building, and Patsy was a most helpful host. We were only scheduled for one night, but stayed a second night after being informed about a death in the family which forced the cancellation of our trip to Monhegan. Patsy was great in...

“Get as large a room as possible, preferably on as low a floor as possible (higher floors are hotter). Private bath is nice. If traveling with someone else, I recommend two beds rather than one because the beds are small.”
