My BF and I stayed in the 1774 Inn over Labor day weekend and we LOVED it! We travel a lot around New England and have stayed in a lot of B & B's, Inns and Hotels over the years. The 1774 Inn was special and memorable. It reminded me of a big Manor House that you would find in...

Great blend of wonderful hospitality, historical charm and comfortable updates. Beautiful lawn rolling down to the river. Jackie's breakfasts are worth the stay alone! And John is thorough and helpful in planning activities. Great inn keepers who will make you feel more than welcome.

The inn was beautiful and very well kept on a large waterfront property. The room we stayed in (The Haggett Room) had a great view of the water and was very clean and nicely decorated. John and Jackie were amazing, as were their assistant and room keeper. They greeted us when we arrived and gave us a ton of information...

We spent 3 nights here and could easily have stayed more. A great base to explore the area (rugged coast, beaches, Maine Maritime Museum, city of Bath, lobster fisheries ...and more) but also a great place to just relax. Adirondack chairs on the expansive lawn look out to a peaceful view of the water. The rooms are spacious and comfy...

My husband and I stayed at this gorgeous inn for 5 days in late August. Although we have been to the Bath/Phippsburg/Popham Beach area before, this was our first stay at the 1774 Inn and we were extremely delighted! First of all, the hosts, John and Jackie, are warm and lovely people. They are gracious, funny, and always willing to...

Although the weather was less than perfect, we had a lovely 3-night stay at this very clean and comfortable bed and breakfast. The hosts were very helpful with guiding us to places to visit and nearby, high-quality restaurants for dinner. We had to depart very early on our final morning and they left out for us some breakfast foods to...

This is a beautifully decorated inn. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. John is very helpful in providing information on places to see and where to dine. He even made a dinner reservation for us the first night. Jackie's gourmet breakfasts are amazing! She also puts out cookies and tea every afternoon. There is a great view of the...

We've reviewed the 1774 house before. It continues to hold up as a quality place in a bucolic setting. Pro's: quiet, isolated, yet close to Bath and other Maine attractions; hospitable innkeepers who can help with any and all local arrangements and directions; ; tasty and unusual breakfasts; quaint rooms with adequate bathrooms; good wifi; beautiful views of the Kennebec...

If you're searching for a place to enjoy the history, peace and quiet of the coastal Maine countryside, look no further. The 1774 Inn perfectly fits the bill. My wife and I decided to honeymoon in Maine and spent a few nights here in early October in the rustic comfort of the Woodshed Room. We enjoyed spending evenings with a...

Our room was spotlessly clean, lovely linens on the bed and an excellent breakfast. The owners are proud of their home and give a wonderful tour while relating its history. They also have excellent references for places to dine, sights to visit and where to get lobsters packed "to go."
