Sarah was a most accommodating inn keeper with great suggestions for activities and dining. We were celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary and Sarah surprised us with rose petals leading to our bed and on our bed along with chocolates. We loved Sarah's delicious breakfasts and attention to detail. The room was spacious and clean. The only thing that could would...

The Tipsy Butler is a must for travelers who want to feel welcomed with personal attention. Our innkeeper, Sarah, was so delightful, we enjoyed every minute with her. She has a fabulous sense of humor, is an inventive cook and took pains to make our stay as comfortable as could be. We also met very interesting people. I think the...

We stayed at the Tipsy Butler because our son married a young lady from the area. We shipped items needed for the wedding through the airlines a day before us arriving in Portland, Maine. Our shipment was overlooked by 5 different flights, however, we received the items 4 hours prior to needing them and had to drive into Portland, Maine...

I stepped back in time to a slower pace of life as I crossed Sarah's threshold. She had come outside to greet us and I felt like we were visiting family. Our huge well appointed room far exceeded our expectations. Every ammenity was available, plenty of closet space to completely unpack. Breakfast was amazing, morning after morning Sarah created healthy...

The innkeeper, Sarah, devotes herself to making every stay memorable (she loves her work and it shows). From the moment you are greeted until your departure, all of your needs are met, but unobtrusively so. The inn is well appointed, the breakfasts divine, and Sarah's advice and suggestions are on the mark. The location is out of the way yet...

We had our first (and won't be our last) stay at the Tipsy Butler in the large Maid's room on 2nd floor where the king-sized bed and linens were sooo comfortable and luxurious and so relaxing. We even enjoyed watching movies in our room, relaxing in the wing-back chairs. This 1845 inn was such a beautiful home to stay in...

We stayed three nights at the Tipsy Butler based on other reviews on Trip Advisor. Wow! We loved it. Comfortable room, nice sitting room and absolutely stupendous breakfasts. Enjoyed chatting with other guests and Sarah (owner, chef ) at breakfast each morning. Sarah is very helpful about area activities and always welcomes you back at the end of the day....

The Tipsy Butler is a wonderful example of a Maine Guest House. Extremely clean, friendly welcome, great service, wonderful food! Our room had a fabulous view through the floor to ceiling windows. The walk-in close was a great surprise. Sara, the owner/manager/cook could not be more gracious. We stayed in "The Maid's Room". Huge space, firm king size bed and...

We arrived late but we were greeted by a big smile and a loving heart. The innkeeper, Sarah D. Jenkins Joa, led us to our room. The room was lovely as you can see on their website, but you have to be physically be in one of them to truly experience the little detail and thoughtfulness which goes into each...

We spent two nights in late foliage season at the Tipsy Butler and heartily recommend it. Sara and Tony, the hosts, were charming. The breakfasts were indeed sumptuous. And while we stayed in the Maid's Room, which is particulaly nice with its floor length windows, we checked out all the other rooms. All were appealing, with comortable accomodatons aimed at...

“Choose the Maid's Room if you have one other person travelling with you because there is a small but charming twin bed single room attached to the Maid's Room with a Jack and Jill bathroom. My husband and I put our teen aged son in there. It was glorious.”
