Got married in the Lewiston area and set up most of the wedding party to stay here. Tom absolutely bent over backwards to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms were clean, breakfast was excellent, the view was amazing, and the architecture was uniquely New England style. I definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in the area.

This bed and breakfast at the former Woolworth estate has lovely gardens and views, and is run by a couple who will tell you enthusiastically about all kinds of things to do nearby that you won't find on the tourist sites, including One Big Sustainable Island, which can be visited for the cost of a boat ride, and many nearby...

My husband and I traveled from NC for the unfortunate passing of his mother. Trying to find accommodations in January in this area was very difficult. We contacted many people including realtors and had no success. This B&B was not even open at the time but when they found out our circumstances they gave us a great rate and agreed to...

Stayed in this B&B for three evenings in Oct. 2011. Former estate of F.W. Woolworth 5&10 Cent King. Located about fforty miles from the coast of Maine in a country setting. Excellent place to go and just rest and get away from the big city. Beautiful grounds where they used to keep race horses. Sunrises are beautiful here as it...

We were on a road trip with my daughter visiting colleges. We only spent one night, however the hospitality, friendliness, and generosity of spirit, exhibited by the proprieter, was beyond words. He helped us locate colleges, gave us directions, and even called to check on my daughter during our trip. We felt as if we were staying with family, relieving...

Tom & Lorette took such great care of me. I felt extremely welcome and was encouraged to relax and enjoy. My room was spotless! Many...

Come here if you want to be off the "beaten trail". Quiet, beautiful view of lake, gardens to meander through. Innkeepers - Friendly and conversational - Knowledgable about area/directions/sites. 8 theme rooms, clean. Love their two small dogs! Available for weddings, showers, business meetings - large, open, covered patio. Would visit again.

I made a reservation here to be near my son at the end of his camp stay in Maine. When our family plans necessitated having to change our dates at the last minute, the hostess, Lorette, was incredibly sympathetic and willing to be flexible. She put us in a lovely room overlooking the lake and pastures ( and sunrise!). They...

We celebrated my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary party at A Rise and Shine B&B on June 18, 2011. An absolutely perfect day. Surrounded by a view of the lake, fields and flower gardens. Tom and Lorette were so helpful in all of my planning. They catered the food. I didn't know what I wanted but money was definitely an issue....

My wife and I stumbled across this place, and we're glad we did. Beautiful setting, warm and welcoming hosts, great breakfast, and beautifully decorated rooms. We'll go back, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting a great place to "get away from it all."
