The entrance and lobby of the Herbert is stunning. Luxury from a bygone age calls to you from the drapes and the seating, and the antique decorative touches. The onsite manager is very friendly, and happy to oblige. But we had a room which was small, and under-equipped. On request, the manager brought us some stands where we could put...

Stayed here for a night on the way through to Canada. Such a charming building and wonderful rooms. One of the rooms unfortunately had super thin walls so every conversation could be heard from a neighbouring room. The other room was great. My only remark would be to either supply coffee facilities in room or maybe communal downstairs so in...

The exterior is beautiful. The entrance is 'grand' and wide open. I found the room a bit disappointing - there was no chair other than a desk chair - I personally hate 'sitting in the bed I'm going to sleep in'. If there was more than me there would have been no where to sit BUT the bed. I 'discovered'...

My wife and I stayed here a couple nights last weekend. What a wonderful place to stay and just be unplugged. When you walk in it feels like your walking back 60 years. This is a beautiful hotel and well kept. Dawn the manager was great and knows a lot about the history of the hotel and the area. We...

The only thing scarier than the ghost stories told about that place is the old bitter women at the front desk who works the nights. I'm 22 and was rudely told to shh and go to my room because it "would be best" like there's quiet hours and I'm 8 years old. I found out the hard way talking to...

My wife and I loved our weekend getaway at the Herbert. Glad that the TVs have been removed from rooms! The newly renovated room was spacious and the reproduction vintage World's Fair Poster adds a unique touch. Bathroom is bright, white and spotless. We plan to return several times this fall and winter -- wonderful place.

Our room (216) was extraordinarily clean. The bathroom seemed recently renovated, was very bright and immaculate, but still retained the old timey feel with a pedestal sink. The comfortable king size bed had very clean linens with nice character to fit the room. Antique dresser, desk, and chair added nicely to feel of room. Air conditioner and (decent) Wi-Fi were...

We stayed here for one night before my sister in law's wedding. The lobby was beautiful and comfortable, very much the soul of the establishment, and everything seemed every bit a throwback to times gone by. We knew people who had stayed there before and knew exactly what we were getting. The downsides are there are no TVs in the...

No tv, wifi is terrible, old stained carpet in bedroom, old air conditioning unit doesn't work, beds are uncomfortable, mild on tubs. Homeless looking people sleeping in Lobby. This place could be beautiful but it's a disgusting run down old hotel ( don't be fooled by the beautiful lobby,,,,, ask to see a room

My husband and I stayed at the Herbert over the weekend while we attended a wedding in the area. When we booked our room we noticed that the check in time was not until 3. We called the day before we were heading there and easily changed to an earlier check-in (noon!) To better accommodate our needs. When we arrived...
