North Charleston, South Carolina
Reviewed 31 August 2012

It was our first visit to Captain Lord and Kennebunkport, and it won't be our last. Everything about the inn is warm and inviting. The rooms are beautiful, the food great and you can't beat the warmth and hospitality of everyone involved with the place. We definitely look forward to our next visit. Linda Gordon and Bill Cattorini

We just enjoyed our 15th stay at the Captain Lord Mansion; our first during the summertime. We have yet to find another B&B of its calibre from the attention to detail and quality throughout to the beauty and comfort of the inn and surroundings. It is a perfect location for exploring the town, the oceanfront and lovely drives to neighbouring...

My husband and I made our first trip up to Maine in July 2012 and stayed 3 nights at the Captain Lord Mansion to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary. With all the B&B's around it was hard to make a choice but we are so happy with our decision. The location was just perfect. The room was great, spacious...

This was one of our favorite vacations. We stayed 8 nights and didn't want to leave. A quick walk to downtown Kennebunkport was so convenient. Between the wine tasting, breakfast outside, quiet evenings, beautifully decorated rooms, and the fabulous treats, we will be back next year.

Dear Germantown, Thank you for your positive review and for your 8 night reservation. That is much longer than the usual length of stay for the average guest, so we really appreciate that your visit was so enjoyable that you are planning on returning next year. We look forward to that return visit! Your innkeeper, Rick Litchfield

We stayed Wednesday through Saturday, June 20 - 23. Directionally challenged arriving in Kennebunkport, we called the front desk who cheerfully guided us to a perfert landing, and that is the story of our stay, perfect. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The house is fascinating to explore and the grounds provide space to rest, congregate and socialize. The staff...

My husband and I enjoyed a couple of nights at the Captain Lord Mansion last week staying in the Union room. It was probably the best vacation we have ever experienced, short of our honeymoon. Our room was amazing and the breakfast and afternoon refreshments exceeded our expectations. We loved sitting in the gardens in the afternoon. I don't know...

Dear Helena, Thank you for your supportive review. You are the second couple who stayed in the Union Room and recently wrote a review. Last winter Bev redecorated that room, including redoing the bath with a new jetted tub and tile work. We are pleased that the changes are being so well received. Also, we are happy for you that...

Staff very helpful and engaged. The bed was over the top comfy, and the room was decorated with meticulous detail and care. Great shower heads and pressure, upscale fixtures and tiling. CLEAN. Dear Boston, Wow, your review covered all the bases! Thank you for that. Many guests choose to stay at the Captain's Garden House, our second building, because it is smaller than the Captain Lord Mansion and perhaps a little more intimate. The Garden House also has the screened porch which is a terrific place to relax and read. Our housekeeping...
